is the best practice to install the gateway on a local QSE server or on its own machine inside the firewall?

Hi Joe - the data gateway should be installed inside firewall closest to the on premise data source - this has nothing to do with a local QSE server just to be clear. This is about Qlik Cloud being able to access on premise data securely.

Is the gateway exclusively for on-prem data storage or can it be set up on Azure storage?

Interesting! Does this also work when our company is the Qlik Cloud SaaS tenant, and our customers need to provide us with direct access to some specific data on their premises? In other words: Can our clients install the gateway on their Win Server w/o the tenant or admin login credentials?

Thanks for your question. As long as you provide access to the software (gateway download) and run through the installation and tenant registration process and the bearer tokens are provided to the tenant from the client - I don't see why not.

We access our sources via a Cloudflare SQL proxy. Does "Qlik Data Gateway - Direct Access" work in conjuction with Cloudflare SQL proxy?
