For me it was dragon ball and dbz at least as a kid, then it was yuyu Hakusho, samurai champloo and cowboy bebop when I got older

Oh my god, I loved Yu Yu Hakusho basically since I was a kid. The only problem is that until a couple years ago any significant home media releases (other than my local Wal-Mart very rarely having copies of the movies from the series) were practically non-existent. Hell, I'm pretty sure I only know like 60% of the story and lore from playing YYH: The Dark Tournament on ps2 for days on end

If you’ve never really seen Dragonball, you should check out the dbz fan animation, “Legend”. It has like 4-5 mil views at this point, and for good reason.
