This has 3 my favourite gospel bass singers in it (Jeff Chapman, Matt fouch, Tim Riley) if you want to check these guys out then I would recommend Gold city - rainbow of love (Tim) Kingdom Heirs - no bones about it (Jeff) Matt fouch - wayfaring stranger (Matt) And I only just realised that they have the same first names as 3 of our favourite a Capella bass singers lol I know this will just go into random requests but I hope you check there’s guys out.

It's both, but without the genes, no technique will help you if you want to use chest.

You can thru correct training. Having an open, relaxed pharynx & loose, moderately open jaw can help. Good, gentle cord closure & Vocal Fry engagement helps a lot if you train it often enough. I’m a Lyric Baritone in classical training, so lows on the extreme side don’t come naturally, but thru brief training, I can (inconsistently) sing down to G1. Bb1 & up is more consistent & effective, even tho I can’t do it immediately. I have to prepare for that. Paul McCartney (Tenor) can sing down to an A1. So it won’t be easy for most unless you’re a natural Bass or Low Baritone, but it’s certainly possible.
