I love that you understand music and GET it when you hear masterful pieces like this. I get chills everytime I hear this Voctave version. I loved this song already after hearing Barbara Streisand singing it way back in the day, but THIS arrangement is brilliant and takes it to a whole other level.

Jamey is the closest thing to a human musical arrangement GOD that I have ever known. As superb as these singers are, HE is the one who shapes their absolutely spectacular harmonies and blends, changes, and dynamics. In my opinion, Voctave is the absolute best vocal group out there. Better than any other a cappella group (even the best), better than any other chorus. They are 11 that sound like 30. Every time I think I've heard them at their best, they change my mind. Great reaction QoFy!! I also liked the second version, but the lead singer's voice was a little too 'over the top' with drama. That last chord (second version) was really great!!

I will never forget the first time I saw Voctave perform this song live in concert back in May 2022. Back then, they had just added this to their repertoire and didn't make any public announcements about it, so it was a huge surprise when they ended their NYC debut concert with this masterpiece! I can't wait to see them sing it again later this month!

Yes, this rendition is wonderful. Love Voctave. IL Divo is an excellent group and I've followed them for many years. Really miss Carlos Marin's magnificent voice. A truly gifted operatic soul since he was a young boy, like Caruso and Lanza. Rip Carlos.

The original was actually on the cast album of the Broadway musical, West Side Story. Streisand's version is probably the highest charting release.

From what I heard (idk if it's true), they were in-between tours or other stuff when they did this whole thing! I hope one day Voctave can do tours in other countries, but it's a slim chance even though they've expressed big interesting in wanting to perform in South America & the UK. Honesty, I consider this group "god-formed" because they have angelic voices for real! And I just consider it a blessing the group is still together despite 1) A few members in the past retiring; 2) They all have normal jobs with crazy schedules; 3) They all have families and other obligations in their individual lives. But they stand strong despite not having as much time together as they'd like. And we stand with them!

Glad to hear someone who knows Il Divo! I fell in love with this song from the original Broadway recordings from West Side Story when I was a teenager, but I love both of these versions as well and I'm so glad that Voctave decided to do it!
