It seems very capable camera. All the shots were what I call niche shots, wide angle, ultra wide angle, 360 degree. To avoid having to carry two cameras it would need ot take good "normal shots" Can it take undistorted normal shots, zoom shots etc.

This is the sort of camera i would use, can you tell if you know Mr Black, what the battery life is like and has it overheated? I travel in very hot areas and the Gopro overheats unless i use selfie battery stick. But the footage looks great man. Awesome little video

We can't be looking at the same footage. That looks super soft almost to the point of being out of focus (yes I have 4k enabled on the YT viewer). The colors also look extremely bad. The dynamic range is also horrible. When you go into the shaded areas the bright areas all but entirely disappear.

I have one and it lasts longer than any other 3602D camera I know/own. Fan is silent for 12-30min depending on surroundings. After that ramps up a bit but still less than enterprise cams like the Pro 2. Hugh Hou made a comparison lately and X4 just lost by miles here. Anyway in direct sunlight at 30°C and more outdoors it will overheat too, but I have not tried fan always on setting so might be it will not even overheat at any time when this is on since the beginning. Also using external power supply and no battery seems to make it usable without fan (= fan speed inaudible after 30cm indoor) for hours.

Some may remember many months ago when I thrashed on isnta360 trash cameras untilt hey banned me that I spoke about this camera. I was a bit cynical as well because previous releases of their camera weren't all that amazing on the consumer market ie previous 8k camera. Now, if none of this footage was edited or cleaned up, it DESTROYS the instacrap. I would love to see some actual 360 footage though out of camera. Just raw 360 files as I don't flatten my footage. Danny, can you share some samples of that? :) Please?

On the Kandao site they have some RAW footage for download. I've been loving the camera (pre-ordered) - i think you need to have the expectations for 360 footage in a non-professional camera.

They made a killer 8k camera many years ago that was plagued with battery issues...then came out with an enterprise version of it, though it was very expensive. This one strikes a balance...to me its the software that prevents me from jumping on the Kandao boat.

@@deniss.6205 agreed, the software on insta360 is amazing for quick workflows on the fly for social media etc. I have taken my insta360 in water many times and even when I pull apart the modular design and it has water in it; it’s always been fine. This time it just died under water and it’s been game over since. I would never have the confidence to do that with a new camera again unless it’s in a dive case
