The cast of Grease were in their 20s and 30s playing high schoolers. Also sometimes it’s about guaranteed box office success, Zendaya brings in the audience and money so casting directors tend to want to stick with a formula that works for as long as possible hence why some actors fight to be cast in different roles than what they play.

Honestly, it comes down to babies to a degree when it comes to cuteness. We are instinctively made (most of us at least) to find baby features cute and something we should protect. Babies have small, rounded features. Then there’s social influences in our life when it comes to beauty. People tend to like those who look like people they grew up with and were nice to them. I personally find women who look like my mother beautiful. As for sexual attraction, it’s a combo of liking people who look healthy and ppl who look like individuals who had a positive influence in our life. I tend to like men similar to this one adult who was nice to me when I was young. I find it weird being attracted to ppl who look like my dad lmao. But some women like men who are like their dad, or mom…looks or character. Familiarity is often preferred. Anyway it’s a combo of factors. Oh and lastly, some people like those who look like themselves. It’s like a unconscious pat on the back lmao. My boyfriend is a different race, so ofc he looks nothing like me physically, but his character is similar to people in my life that I had a positive experiences with. Plus he’s good looking, so I find him hot as well. I hope my explanation gave an idea into what ppl like

i think i agree with her looking intimidating but not in a scary way, just in a powerful way and only from first glance. her demeanor and personality from what we're able to see is obviously sweet and grounded, and i think she is more than able to play a more timid character but her "smize" especially on the red carpet is pretty intense.

Can you clarify if high width to height ratio on midface creates the effect of aggression or honesty/approachability? In the videos for Zendaya and Jordan Barrett etc you mention it creates a more aggressive look vs Miranda Kerr and Carmen Solomon where you describe their midface as rounder, heart shaped and more approachable. Bella is less approachable with her longer face yet Ryan Gosling is seen as more trustworthy because of it. Can you tell us more and clarify? Thanks!!!

So when she emphasizes those masc features shes more interesting cause it fits her face and body shape but when she's trying to be more feminine you tend to look at other actresses or maybe even actor that fit that ideal more. Does that make sense?

isnt the answer to this simple? because the entire cast of a high school movie is filled with 20-30 year olds
@bbyghostie10442 жыл бұрын
Yeah this is just how it works lol People get cast as teens up til their mid 30s (ymmv depending on how young they look in their 30s. Some people still look very young up until their 40s while others can't pull off teen rolls in their 30s) Most people i know irl that are under 27ish could look like a teenager if they tried (with the right styling). And people from 19-23 often get mistaken as highschoolers all the time. Of course there are exceptions, but this isn't anything new lol

I have a bit of an odd cosmetic concern,: I believe my orthodontist made my teeth/smile too wide for the rest of my face (I have a very narrow face) is it possible to reverse what braces did (I was 15 when I got them and had them about a year and a half)
@ahumanaperson2 жыл бұрын
I’m no expert but.. I had jaw surgery for an underbite at 22 -this was the earliest the surgeon would agree to do it due to bone growth/ formation continuing to age 21 minimum. I had X-rays every year from age 9 to monitor the bone growth. I also had two upper pre molars removes as well as my lower wisdom teeth and I had an expander in the upper jaw (age 15?). I had brace work for a year at age 15 and then again at age 21. This was all to prepare for surgery. I mention my story as you have not mentioned your current age which is a significant factor. So.. your jaws continue to ‘change’ until 21/25, and your teeth roots are set in the jaws. It’s always possible to cut pieces of your jaw (together with teeth) out to rearrange but that’s a high monetary cost as well as high risk. Your brace work was designed to fit your teeth into a functional and aesthetically pleasing position within your jaws. If you would like a narrower ‘smile’ that would either involve 1. removing teeth and closing the gaps or 2. Some kind of ‘palatal expander’ that does the opposite. Those would be the only least invasive options, which would also require having braces fitted again. If you did find a way to have your palete width shortened bear in mind that that length of teeth has to move somewhere, so they may end up protruding forward (giving a horse face appearance). Your orthodontist didn’t actually make any aesthetic choices regarding smile width, they just fit your existing teeth to your existing jaws/ skull. (So any changes would involve changing your natural skull shape or amount of teeth). I hope that helps?
@Roblox-wn3bf2 жыл бұрын
@@ahumanaperson Thanks for your elaborated answer! I haven't really explained the situation as it is quite complicated, but in my opinion it is exactly the opposite of what you say and my teeth actually don't fit in my jaw... It's hard to explain without a picture, but it comes down to the fact that the roots of the teeth are positioned so much forward that they are almost outside my jawbone which makes it look like my gums are receding. This is not the case because when I asked my general dentist if I don't have receding gums, he was the one who told me that it was because of my teeth being so extremely far out of my jawbone... When I look at old photos, I think my teeth just looked really nice, apart from the fact that my 2 front teeth were very protruding. My dentist has probably widened my smile to make them all align. But now, not only are they far out of my jawbone, but I actually have a horse smile, whereas I didn't have this before... I do still have a wire behind my teeth and wonder if they would not go back to their original position if I have this wire removed (I am 29...) if not then why do I still have the wire? The problem is that I did have an overbite, but again, I wonder if I didn't need surgery like you instead of bringing my lower teeth so far forward that they are almost out of my jawbone.... and I also have a bit of a retracted chin so I don't understand the dentist's choice and he never asked my opinion either.... I don't really know to whom to turn to with this problem either because it's so complex... Another dentist told me I could have my teeth filed down a bit and then brought closer together with braces (my teeth are quite large anyways, hence the horsesmile) but it's still pretty invasive to me especially since I didn't have this problem before braces and wonder if the simple solution of getting the wire out, wouldn't already fix this to some degree?
@ahumanaperson2 жыл бұрын
Roblox182 so from what you’ve written it seems like you had crowding in your lower jaw and the brace work straightened that out, if you have a wire glued behind your teeth that sounds like a ‘permanent’ retainer. You’ve also reminded me that the “filing between the teeth” method is what my brother had done to help reduce crowding without extraction/ surgery. It seems like your ortho decided to straighten out the teeth and didn’t consider that you may have a significant aesthetic deformity that you may like to amend. If your teeth can effectively chew through food then maybe the ortho just didn’t want to suggest surgery as it was not functionally necessary and it might seem insulting or they just assumed you couldn’t fund it? (Idk where you’re located, I’m in the UK and had mine done on the NHS (free) but these surgeries can cost £50k out of pocket). Anyway: getting the wire out will not fix anything, although it may be of no functional use anymore (and may even be negatively affecting the health of the roots of your teeth (teeth like to ‘wiggle’ separately, if they’re ‘glued’ together the roots ‘feel useless’ and get absorbed by the gums/ get shorter)). If you do want to change the appearance you need to see an ortho and surgeon. These surgeries are especially common in Korea (maxiliofacial surgery) if you’re looking for ‘the best in aesthetics’. But you probably require brace work first to prepare for the surgery, which is why I suggest seeing an ortho first. 10% of the world population have irregularity of the jaw and 1 in 10 of those people have deformity to a significantly visible/ detrimental degree, but everyone is genetically inclined to produce the same amount of teeth. Everyones teeth can be bigger/ smaller and may not fit their jaws OR some people have a jaw deformity that prevents the teeth fitting in their jaws. So my upper jaw was underdeveloped- my teeth did not fit around it, and my lower jaw was overdeveloped -larger than proportional for my skull. It sounds like your lower jaw is underdeveloped, I can not speak for your upper jaw as you haven’t mentioned any irregularity. As you mentioned: you can have the teeth filed in between which will “reduce the width” of the smile, but if you only have this done on the lower teeth it can recreate an overbite, if you have it done on upper and lower this could possibly be better, but I think you would also require repeat brace work to control the realignment of the teeth. This however won’t address your chin related concerns. Genioplasty (chin augmentation) is a common option for people with an overbite or “weak chin”, so you could look into that in combination with teeth/ brace work or in lieu of. In my opinion: ideally you should have had your lower jaw surgically realigned at 21-ish alongside bracework, this may have involved removing your lower wisdom teeth/ other teeth to create space for surgery/ reduce crowding, or maybe just lightly filing in between (depending on the severity of the crowding) to prevent the ‘receding’ look you mention now. So I believe your options are either jaw surgery OR addressing the crowding alongside a genioplasty -which would balance out your lower profile. Jaw surgery is an option at any age but the bones heal faster when you’re younger, so it’s absolutely still an option, my surgeon mentioned that I can wait until I’m 40+, there’s no rush (obviously my concern was mostly aesthetic ..so asap haha). So yea, obviously I’m no expert, but I can say for certain that if this is a problem you want to fix: go and speak with a (better) ortho about it, or a dental surgeon (but they will most likely refer you back to an ortho for prep as you can’t really move teeth on an operating table (just the jaws that they’re set in 😅) if that makes sense? So if they will make any adjustments to the teeth that has to happen before the surgery because surgery is the final step to put everything in place. Although if you’ve lost trust in orthodontists then go straight to a dental surgeon and they can probably refer you to someone who won’t let you down again, I only mention seeing an ortho first because they will most likely suggest the least invasive option, whereas if you go to a surgeon first they may be more inclined to suggest a costlier more invasive procedure. Funding plays a significant role in these kinds of things. Sorry about the essay hah & Good luck 😉
