You know when they do before and after photos for supplements they do tricks like change posture, lighting, (for men) they'll shave their chest and both photos are done in the same day. That's kind of how these glow up photos are. before is bad angle, bad lighting, no makeup and the after is good lighting, good makeup, better angle and face filter. Most of these could be taken 20 minutes apart and you'd never know.

@inuhundchien6041 Жыл бұрын
Wearing makeup is fine to show the glow up because you actually need to study and learn how to do your makeup that fit your face. That's part of the glow up - knowing how to put on makeup, the best hair cut for the face, the best colour to use as makeup and colour for clothing (they are very different thing) etc. Understanding colour theory and kibbe body type etc is essential for a true glow up.
@fatsharks Жыл бұрын
The biggest "glow up" is getting healthy, healing yourself, becoming happier, becoming more of yourself... It's a holistic process that's about both your mind and body. Not just about which mascara you use, etc. You'll always look amazing if you have a good daily routine, get enough sleep, eat well, exercise, and of course dress well, do your skincare, etc. Don't worry too much about the details, just try to establish an overall healthy, meaningful lifestyle that works for you, and a "glow up" will be a welcome byproduct of it.

Looking « better » because of make up or filters doesnt mean you had a glow up, because you don’t actually look like that. Glow up means losing weight, gaining musles, better hair style/ facial hair, better skin, hygiene etc.
@karla3460 Жыл бұрын
Why is a glow up defined by losing weight, gaining muscles, better skin ect. as you state!!??? What if I'm a naturally skinny person or a chubby, corpulent person, who feels perfectly healthy and content, why would I aspire to lose weight and gain muscles?! And what if I have a chronic skin condition which does not allow me to have so called "good/clear skin" at all or as easily as others? Does having muscles, "porcelain" skin and a skinny/slim body automatically make me more worthy and beautiful!? The whole concept and idea of us needing to "glow up" in the first place is messed up, and quite frankly if anything needs to "glow up" it is one's mindset, level of compassion, respect and open-mindedness more than anything else...

The thing is about the modern 'glow up' is that they end up going for the same eyebrows, makeup style, hair, clothing and filters so end up looking like a parody of each other. My personal concept of a glow up is skincare, good posture and understanding what works for your features. The thing is women don't want to put in the time and effort to understand their face shape, features, body type, colouration etc. so they go down the easy route and opt for the cookie cutter 'ig baddie' look that is already proven to be attractive. It's ironic because it's still not sinking in that unique, natural beauty trumps all of that. I don't wear false eyelashes, have straight brows, hooded eyes and even though my upper lip is flat, it's shaped like a heart so I don't try to overline them because this is a unique feature. This makes my face memorable and people perceive me as strikingly beautiful and automatically assume I'm a model. The time taken to understand your features truly do payoff. It must be odd for those who wear a ton of makeup and look nothing like themselves without it receive compliments knowing deep down it's all smoke and mirrors.

Lmao, makes zero sense, trend followers are clueless sheep.
