Being a Sunderland fan we have a massive link to a few of the current England lionesses & previous members of the England team. It's brilliant for QPR west Londons biggest football club to have one of their own involved but not only involved the scorer of that all important winning goal. Well done to her & her team mates they've did the nation proud. Maybe the FA might realise with the right manager. The English men's team would do the same thing. We've got the most talented group of players for years. I hope they're not wasted it would be criminal.

That young woman, same going for the other Lionesses deserve every single bit of adoration and time in the limelight. Chloe Kelly scored that final goal that saved us from penalty shoot out trauma, she is obviously a very down to earth person, all the Lionesses are and why just like QPR with Chloe Kelly, all the Lionesses former and current clubs should be shouting the Lionesses names for long time to come. They have given us for first time since 66 over 50 years later finally another major international football competition win and for current generation who wasn't even born in 66, their first. That is huge both ways! The England mens squad have since 66 tried and tried, but alas still not got to the finishing line, the women have and why the Lionesses now have their place firmly in Englands football history greats!!

As a Fulham supporter of 50 years +, this brought a huge smile to my face. QPR are right to be proud that CK is one of their own. Best of luck for the season. Hopefully you'll win promotion and we'll see you all at the Cottage soon.

@@OuchPleaseNoooo That's where you're wrong man. tickets are already selling out, I'm a guy and I've been following the women's game for some time and I'm seeing the numbers [fans] increasing all the time. They've literally put women's football on the map and it's going to stick, whether you like it or not! It's not replacing the men's game [if that's what you're worried about], it's here to co-exist with it, just like women's tennis.
@John-gv2ug2 жыл бұрын
You are wrong on a number of counts. Firstly, lazy generalizations "everyone" is not jumping on the bandwagon, as "everyone" is not interested in football or other sports, be it played by males or females. Secondly, "she will be forgotten", really? I suppose just like Laura Kenny, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Paula Ratcliffe, Sue Barker etc have been forgotten. Some people may forget but not those who are interested and that is a group of people growing rapidly by the day. The buzz will be there again next year for the World Cup. A tournament does not have to be played in a nation to get the attention of the people of that nation. Has every men's World Cup received less attention in the UK than 1966? Simple answer, no. Thirdly, "just seems to be for media attention", yes it is for media attention, which is essential, but not just for that, as, being a QPR ex-player and fan, Chloe would have been invited to that match even if the were no cameras there. Media attention is communication and without media attention, sport, especially professional level would not exist, it is part of its life blood.
@OuchPleaseNoooo2 жыл бұрын
@@pdaniaful I'm not worried about it. Think i've been misunderstood. I want to see Womens football do well but i just can't see it long term. Can you honestly tell me you see 10 to 20 thousand flocking to Stamford Bridge, Anfield or Old Trafford week in week out to watch the womens sides? For £20 a ticket? Not £1 for kids etc. Wanting it do thrive and it actually thriving isn't the same thing.
