Great signal this morning. I was in the call room at the hospital using my friend's flex radio remotely. His beam up 75ft does a great job.

We all have bad days, but you killed it anyway! Also, You've probably figured it out by now, but to repeat the message, after long pressing the knob, click the menu button. The number of repeats and interval can be adjusted in the messages menu.

Thanks man! Yeah I figured out the repeat but wanted to adjust the delay. I now know!

I recognized your callsign and checked my logs, looked like we had a park to park on June 19th when I was activating us-10658 and a few other QSOs. You might have made my video I posted, unless you were at the end of the log where my gopro battery died. 72 de AI5DD Joe

@@Utahforrest I will make sure my batteries are charged next time, sorry about that. I also divided up my video in chapters per contact to spare people who don't want to watch the entire raw footage.

I am gonna go for my HAM. I just bought the ARRL HAM Radio License Manual so I could take the test. I am still befuddled as to what rig to start out with. I own a home and want to spend about $2K or less. Of course there are tons of videos full of advice.

Congrats on taking the first step! It’s a very rewarding hobby. It will depend on what you want to do as far as operating. Bands, modes, etc! I wasn’t totally sure where the hobby would take me so I wanted a “shack in a box” rig that could handle just about everything so I got a Yaesu FT-991A. It’s an all band HF rig and has VHF/UHF so I have all the local repeaters programmed in. It also can do digital modes (FT8) and much more. For the price, it’s a great value! Most of my videos are field operations and typically QRP (5 watts). Some of my rigs are CW only. If you have any questions or need help please email me from my QRZ page. I’m not an expert by any means but I’m happy to help however I can! 73 de KI7QCF
