Kinda gives credence to "An amateur station must use the minimum transmitter power necessary to carry out the desired communications" LOL! I am a huge fan of QRP!

Crazy how well QRP and compromised antennas work when the bands are decent

@@EvanK2EJT I regularly feel like 100 watts is the only way to activate certain parks by me and then I get DX on 4’ whips sitting on my butt in my backyard. Make it make sense!

@@Utahforrest The bands are so weird sometimes. I've had days where I'll call CQ over and over on 100w and barely get a call, while other times I'll be on like 3w and have a pileup. The only reliable way to KNOW it's gonna be crazy is to work 40m first thing in the morning, or 40m and 80m at night. Then it's pileups on 1w here on the east coast LOL

Great work!!! I am just getting started with CW and really finding it a challenge. I love the QRP side of the hobby

@@telcojockey QRP amazes me. Sometimes it really makes me work though 😂 That’s great you’re starting out with CW! Stick with it. If you invest a little time each day it’s amazing how far you’ll go. 73

@@newsjunkie3000 Super efficient. I’ve also raved about the battery life. But now I know I’ve been running 1 watt 😂

Nice job Forrest, I always listen out for you if I’m home and you pop up on hamalerts. Good effort on the low power 😁.

It’ll be a special day when we get the QSO, Lee! Even if it’s KH1 to KH1 at the same park when I come to activate in the UK 😂

Actually, I finished watching it and now see that you were in your back yard. WELL DONE! And, yes, 1-1.5 watts is perfectly doable! It's a good thing! :)

Haha thanks Thomas! While I set a personal record for DX during an activation this morning (15), the first thing I told the XYL when I got home was you and I had our first ever QSO! Made my day. I’ve already stuck a QSL card in the mail with a note for you! ☺️thanks for the hunt!
