hey vod watchers, just to keep you in the loop, some individuals are discouraging etoiles from playing, due to his "betrayal" of Phil on Day 1. Etoiles mention on his twitter that he is planning on finishing this new mini event but will probably stop playing the purgatory event until he can makes up some kind of fun for him to play on the server. i don't feel like these individuals would be a part of the active community but i just wanted to echo what the attitude all the streamers of the QSMP have, in case they skim through the comments or whatever, which is this is not okay. The chat is not an active participant in the SMP, so take a step back and rejoin the chat vibe my friends. Stop inserting your main character vibes into their story because when someone is not having fun it sours the entire experience. it was tough watching red team on day 1 because of the imbalance and the sacrifice of fun to keep themselves sane, and its hard to enjoy their wins now because etoiles' fun is being heavily discourage by other people's chat. Please remember this is all pretend, that they are friends at the end of the day. And that if we support when our streamer's character's decision to enter their villain arc, (dsmp!Philza active involvement in the destruction of L'manburg) to have these disagreements that they can then work through, we can offer the same courtesy to others and their choices. Thank you to the rest of you who are kind and allowing myself this small moment to remind others to be kind as well.

Thanks you for that, i'm a french crow, i started watching philza two month after i started to watch Etoiles Baghera and Antoine and it feels good to see people defending our dear french beast, he is very funny and kind and i think that just free hate that's completly uncalled for, people should THINK before they talk in chat... i also had fun watching some of Etoiles Vod but ifhe stop playing for a while i'm just going to be sad.- Have a good one mate, your a very good person ^^

@@Crumblz_AceX yeah mate no worries and thank you, its a sad thing to have the players experience this but its expected with any new smp in minecraft. since the demographic of the game tends to lean towards younger folks who might not have the experience of how to interact with these kinds of events. its hard for them to leave the parasocial relationships with the canon characters and separate these simulated emotions for the real people playing them when its a full 8 hours of role play you know. we saw this with the dream smp and we'll see with every new one to come. Its not an excuse you know but i can see where they are coming from and its just the job of the older crows to leave these gentle reminders that its not something anyone tolerates. Anyway its more fun watching in good vibes than steeping in toxic ones. :) Etoiles is a cool dude. I hope i see more stuff from him, and if he wanted to stop streaming on the QSMP i would support it. I think i would be sad too though if the choice to leave was outside what he really wanted to do.

Not gonna lie I stopped watching the first day, because I found it hard to watch. But I love the insane arc. Bolas rojas is such a fun group see them interac and watch them form bonds that I feel some wouldn't be as strong without the purgatory. But it is hard to see such a beautiful community get heated by a few individuals. I hope that they find a way to play again and that some people shut the fuck up!❤❤

Therefore, I hope you'll let me elaborate. Indulgences were popular during the 12-1500s, and were used to pardon sins by donation to the church. Most of the time, you would pay the church some amount of money and then they would make your sin slate clean. These were administered by priests. Some day, a guy named Martin Luther (not to be confused with MLK), a priest in Germany, saw these indulgences and being a part of the protestant group decided to do something about it. He wrote the 95 thesis, and nailed it to his local churches door. The 95 thesis was a list of criticisms overall stating that the church had no right to hand out these indulgences, and the only way to true salvation was through faith. Eventually, Martin Luther was sent to see the pope, and after a trial, the pope excommunicated Martin from the Roman Catholic Church. Later on, another pope, pope Pius V stopped the exchange of all indulgences 50 years after Luther's outrage. However, pope Leo X lll abolished indulgences for good. I’m very curious what that history is about and I might look into it now lol. I’m a Catholic and that is not at all what Indulgences are in religion, at least what they actually are right now. I forget as it’s been a while since I was able to participate in that because of lockdown making it not possible to go inside church for a while, so I’ve partly forgotten what the exact details are of an Indulgence. Well I’m rambling, but you’ve intrigued me to go look into that info you’ve shared and compare it to what I’ve known and stuff. Anyway! Great question it can be very confusing! So the streamer is Phil Phil then picks members of his community that he trusts to become mods who are members of the community that make sure the rest of chat are abiding by the rules because auto-bits can miss messages sometimes Phil had a rule to no backseat (where you tell a streamer what to do) and some members of chat were saying to “burn the things” as in the rest of the stuff they weren’t getting from the bodies So the mods can change it so the chat can’t talk aka meaning that they can’t backseat anymore
