One thing people dont mention enough is that when you watch him play you can see the pure joy on his face everytime. He really loves it. Hes also so underrated in terms of how instinctive a player he is, He just seems to be in the moment and create something just on the fly Im a Scotland fan that remembers the dark days from 2003-13 before Finn and Hoggy and the current crop. Both will be all time greats

You're 100% spot on boss. I agree with you on his enthusiasm and joy when he's playing. Looks like a kid on the playground living his dream Very fun to watch him perform. It's cool to see Scotland doing well! They had a solid round 1 in 6N this week. Nice tough gritty game

There’s a recent video called Finn Russell can tackle. It’s a really good watch because he’s not a big guy and you see him take down some heavy men and strip the ball off them.
@QSNgg7 ай бұрын
I'll check that Finn Russell video out! Thanks for letting me know Jack
@IanCurtin11 ай бұрын
The great thing about Russell's kicking is there is a rule that was brought in recently that means if you kick from your own half into the opposition's 22 and it goes out, it is your line out.
@willsonj11 ай бұрын
Came to say this. I know it’s been in League for a while, but I’m a big fan of how the 50/22 works in Union. We’ve seen some beautiful kicks since it was introduced. There’s nothing better than a forward hitting one 👌🏼
@jamielockdown11 ай бұрын
That's one of those wild rule changes where they're incentivising something that was already well worth doing if your 10 was good enough to reliably pull it off. The way Ronan O'Gara's kicks would tend to just bounce out on the 5 metre line was like sorcery. I remember him for those touch finders more than his drop goals. It was incredibly hype even in the days when your opponent would get the line-out.

Finn has really come into his own in the past 4 years or so. He always had the talent but for years he lacked the game management skills of a sexton or farrell. Now he's added that to his game and he's arguably the best 10 in world rugby

It's cool to see a player grow and evolve in their career. It's nice that he rounded out his game to become an elite talent. Very cool that he's taking full advantage of his gifts and ability

If you know this rule already then I apologize for this. The great kicks Finn was making are exceptional because of a rule that was recently brought in. Normally if you kick a ball into touch then possession is conceded to the other team. The 50:22 rule is that if you kick the ball from the 50 meter area, the ball bounces in field first and then goes out of play in the 22 the kickers team retains possession. This means an attacking line out in a dangerous area of the field. It’s a great attacking weapon if you have a player who can execute a 50:22 like Finn can. Great video. Finn is class. He currently plays for English rugby team, Bath and they’ve been tearing it up in the Gallagher premiership this year. Mostly because of Finns influence. Search Gallagher Premiership Rugby on KZbin. If you like good fly halfs try Marcus Smith of Harlequins and England, or Johnny Sexton of Ireland and Leinster.
