Will it kick out duplicate call signs? I want to upload my daily POTA adi files but I don't want to send QSL cards to contacts already sent from previous days.

Good question, I want to say "perhaps" You may want to reach out to Bob about this

Very cool. I think i've only ever bought one piece of software in my life, but this one actually looks worth doing. I'll have to use a windows VM but thats fine.

I like the idea of creating QSL cards this way but NOT to the tune of $50. I have had my license since 1970 and I still like receiving paper QSL cards. Unfortunately, the electronic ones are not recognized for any awards, as far as I know. VE9CZ

Thanks, Peter, I like paper ones as well. Regarding awards, even the 3905CC is accepting electronic ones now. That is the nice thing about ham radio, everyone is entitled to their own ways of doing things.

I don't think this is an electronic card, but rather a card sent electronically rather than snail mail. I have a "real" card that Stu sent me by snail mail and one that he emailed me. Once I printed it out on cover stock, I can't tell the difference between them since he used the same image on both. I've taken many cards to ARRL checkers and they didn't ask me to show the envelopes that carried them. $50 is a lot cheaper than ordered cards. No postage and the ink and paper is on the recipient. I'd rather pay for ink and paper to get the other guy's card than print a bunch of my own to send off and maybe get (or likely not) one in return.

As a new ham, I am shying away from any data entry or computer use while trying to enjoy the radio hobby. Pen and paper log for me is fine. While I understand some folks enjoy exchanging cards, getting awards, or participation certificates...that's just not for me or why I went into this hobby. Trying to DX someone is enough work for me. Adding more steps or gear to a simple set up is not worth the extra time IMO. Might as well just email or txt the QSL at this point?? Again, just my opinion. Appreciate the video and content though. I may change my mind one day, but I don't see it happening. 73 👍

Yeah I agree. 20+ years ago in my teens I felt the same. Grew up next to Adirondacks and played around with CB my whole life and just enjoyed it. I used a pin and and world map to log my CQ's and skip chats. I will say I wish now I had some cards to remember people. I have children now and am trying to get them interested in the hobby. Having little mementos are nice and gets others engaged in the hobby, too. But the most important thing is that you're enjoying it for yourself. How did you get started?

you call it QSL creator but you must send your artwork / design to Bob first 🤔? what are you actually creating with the creator? does it just allow you fill out the QSO info?
@outnaboot

I don't call it that...that is the name of the program. You don't have to send your artwork to Bob, he was very helpful in showing me how to upload my own artwork. It is a pretty good program for the $50 you pay for it. Great value in my opinion.
