QT#89 - Adding Conditional Formatting Icons to Data Labels on Power BI Visuals

Learn how to add conditional formatting icons directly to data labels on Power BI visuals
In this video, I'll use dynamic formatting of data labels to add red circle alert icons directly to a data label, based on comparing the value to a target value.
There are a few advantages where this might be useful instead of colouring the whole bar.
Accessibility -
Icons can be more accessible for people with colour vision deficiencies or other visual impairments, as they rely on a distinct shape rather than colour alone. This makes the chart more inclusive and easier for a wider audience to understand.
Aesthetics -
Using an icon can maintain the visual consistency of the chart, especially if you are already using a specific colour scheme or style for other elements. Changing the column colour might clash with the overall design and also can be overwhelming if there are too many bar and column charts, while an icon can be more easily customized to fit the look and feel of the chart.
Flexibility -
Icons allow for greater flexibility in conveying additional information. For example, you could use different icons to represent different levels of alert (e.g., low, medium, high), whereas using column colours might not offer the same level of detail and could impact the aesthetics of the visual.

I agree totally, I used to do something similar to this by adding small cards at the top of the bars but it was a bit of a faff. This is much better.

This is great. Thanks! However, I ran into an issue: the X-axis on the Stacked Bar chart turned into Orange dots. How to fix it? Thanks.
