I have many "Wall Pack" style lights like this, outside my shop- I'd bet the threaded bosses around the inside of the back cover wasnt originally for a PC board, but for a BALLAST for when they used the same case for Other lighting, before LED At the $45 price point, if you got a year or so out of it, I'd say that wasnt too bad considering the exact same thing in commercial grade is $250EACH and up

I think the number of daylight and darkness hours pretty much balance out through a year. The average would be 12 hours per day so 3,000 hours would be 250 days. Unless these are used with a motion sensor, they don't seem to be worth the time it would take to install them. Even if installed indoors with 8 hours per working day of use and 5 day work weeks, it's only 75 weeks. Still not worth the installation time in my opinion.

The sensor really doesn't trip until there is complete darkness. When I turned off all of the lights and the unit came on, I got too close to a light colored surface and the light turned itself off. In an case your point is still valid and thanks for taking the time to share it.,

Hi, i think this replaces a 100-watt metal halide lamp that is rated at 15,000 hours. I don't see a savings in life, in an industrial application you will have to change fixtures at 3 times as often as a metal halide lamp, you are also paying for the electrician. no thanks Rich
