I believe that when originally conceived, A-20 was planned to be a complete Autoroute throught Vaudreuil-Dorion. However this plan was abandoned due to local opposition

A-20 is so weird. I always wondered why they didn't decide to go around Vaudreuil-Dorion.

I want to assume geographical constraints. If you look at it on a map, Ile-Perrot poses a barrier in terms of aligning the route to the north or south. That’s just my assumption.

I miss the Miss Dorion strip joint! There use to be Rub and Tug Massage Parlors on the main drag as well back in the late 80s! That Labourgad bar was a gay bar! Oh good old Quebec, the Province of SIN!!! That Dairy Queen in Ile Perrot has been around for over 60 years!

@@davidcampbell1899 I love that DQ. I’ve stopped there many times with my family over the years. It’s a staple.

@@FreewayAndrewCAN I grew up in Hudson, and I remember it back in the early 60 when the 2&20 was single road and there was no Trans Canada ( Hwy 40) back before 1965

This is an AUTOROUTE?!
@Pyeknu7 ай бұрын
(*checks map*) Honestly, the best thing to do here IMO is have A-20 turn north at A-30, then go east on A-40 until past the Pont de l'Île-aux-Tourtes before building a new connector back to the A-20 mainline. Download the part through Vaudreuil-Dorion and Île-Perrot as part of R-342.

@@Pyeknu That or an extended Route 136. The section of A-20 along the river through Longueuil could become A-715 or something, while A-25 can be extended to meet A-20 at A-30.

They should have replaced traffic signals with roundabouts instead

no it should be interchanges
@urgeeked39774 ай бұрын
@@thehighwaysigns6615Yeah but then it’s costly since they would have to take down a lot of buildings and houses in order for them to make interchanges, and it would take years for them to complete it.
