Excellent video! Thank you for taking the time to create this informative walkthrough. In my experience, setting monitors to pre-fader, especially in a music setting, provides more advantages than using post-fader. Mainly, volume adjustments to my house mix (via fader) don't inadvertently affect the musicians' perception of the volume of their own playing. Additionally, I'd posit the chance of feedback actually increases with a post-fader mix, as a volume increase to a channel in the house mix via faders would also increase volume to the monitor feed, and such sudden changes in volume in the monitor might induce feedback. Lastly, to my understanding, muting a channel on a Qu-series board will mute it across all mixes, including pre-fader mixes. I have run across some boards, namely the Mackie VLZ-1604, in which the mute only mutes L-R and post mixes, and not pre-mixes. I did not like this feature on that board, as when I hit mute, I want it muted everywhere. Fortunately, muting on an Allen and Heath board, such as a GL4000, and also on the Qu-series, mutes the channel across all mixes, whether L-R, pre-fade, or post-fade. In summary, I think pre-fader on monitor mixes provides more advantages than post-fader offers. Here's a couple articles with some more explanation - www.sweetwater.com/insync/pre-versus-post-fader-for-monitors/#:~:text=A%3A%20Pre%2Dfader%20sends%20are,almost%20always%20used%20for%20effects. - www.behindthemixer.com/why-pre-and-post-send-selection-matters/ Thanks again for making this video!

Not sure what happened to the audio here, but the channels are inverted. Makes it hard to hear an actual representation of what the mixer sounds like.

i just bought a qu16 and this qu pad app doesn't work or look like the one on the video...
@Mure2422 жыл бұрын
You may have already figured this out by now, but you have to connect your Qu-16 mixer to your router via an Ethernet cable. When you do, the option to select your Qu-16 will be available on the first screen of the Qu-pad app :)

I use an old 9.7 inch iPad. It works just fine. Anyone using Qu Pad with a 12.7 inch iPad Pro? Could be great with the bigger screen
