could u make a hopper for the wheel that only added marbles when there was an open spot? I was thinking a wire could run along the wheel as it turns, and when it hits a hole without a marble it would release a marble to go in. this would mean all u would have to do is press the on button and it would prime itself and if marbles fell out, or u switch to modules that hold marbles longer then it would add them automatically. maybe add a catch off of the bottom reservoir that would kick out extra marbles if u switch back to smaller modules

TaterWaiter - "NOT CALLED BALLS THERE CALLED MARBLES" Firstly, THEY'RE called, not THERE called, but secondly, you're wrong. Marbles are usually made of glass, though early ones were made of marble. These are steel balls, made for use in ball bearings. Go on Ebay and search for "marbles". First, it wants to know what kind of marbles you want, and offers the categories of Glass, Cat's eye, Swirl, Mixed, German, Lattice, Plastic, Stone. It doesn't mention steel. Then search for "Steel balls", and you find the type of balls used in this machine.

How do the balls stay in the wheel at the bottom and then fall out reliably at the top?
@NinjaOnANinja8 жыл бұрын
+winterloggan My guess is the wheel has slices where an ejector passes through. The ejector is like a little ramp inside that pushes the balls out as it rolls them by.
@Tuskor8 жыл бұрын
There is a small dent in each hole pointing towards the center of the wheel, the balls dont fall out at the bottom because the dent is above them, but when they reach the top the ball rolls out. Also there is a small metal wire halfway up the wheel when the balls would normally fall out, to prevent it from coming out before it reqches the top.
@NinjaOnANinja8 жыл бұрын
Tuskor505 That sounds like it could go wrong in a lot of places.
@Tuskor8 жыл бұрын
+NinjaOnANinja How?
@NinjaOnANinja8 жыл бұрын
Tuskor505 Once it passes 90 degrees it can fall out at any point. Unless you gave them a cubby or a safety bar to make sure they don't fall out premature. So either they can fall out too soon or you put work than you needed.

BTW...You are a pure GENIUS my friend...and I do mean that. The tornado platform that's added at 11:20 is absolutely nothing short of thinking outside the box. It appears "easy" or simple at first glance, and it would be easy to now replicate, but originally THINKING of this idea is the genius part! Thinking of the station that uses the weight of 4 steel balls to trigger their release, and then the weight of them pulling the ramp down to the toilet bowl platform, and then raising the track back up and out of the way so that they can race around the circle! Again, now it's simple, but starting from a blank piece of paper and designing all of these is NOT easy. Especially additions like the one described here. I would love to own a piece of your art...really. I want to buy one and put it onto my desk at work and let it run whenever I am in my office. I was reluctant to put this part into my comment, because I didn't want people thinking that the compliment was so that I could get one of your pieces...but I could care less what people on YT think. EXCELLENT work of art! I just want one module with the 4 balls causing the release, and then the do into the toilet bowl... then returning to the lift... simple, and easy to keep on my desk.
