I can never figure out the point of these heads. so much slower then a hotsaw. The only time where it would make more sense is around powerlines and buildings.

+Uwe Henseler Today, there are Quadco hotsaws that can come close to cutting the 29" trees (26" & 28"), but that was not always the case. The hotsaws weigh more than the 2900. The weight of the 2900 allows for a smaller machine to be used. This 2900 Intermittent also has control over the tree before the cut, unlike the hotsaws that need to grab the tree after being cut. It is also easier to shovel-log some trees with an Intermittent saw, as the saw retracts out of the way. The intermittent is also great around power lines.

+QuadcoEquipmentinc I didnt realize that is would cut a 29" tree. there for the 2900 I assume. I ran Quadco hot saws for years and loved them.

For big wood, steep ground and mud I prefer an intermittent saw. I run a 26B Quadco hotsaw and it's an excellent head but in ugly rock and giant wood the intermittent style work better imo😎☺
