Quadeca tweeted this about the video: “Not a break-up album it’s more of a making things work in hard circumstances through self-reflection so u can be there to love someone else. They did a great job breaking down a lot of it tho & I don’t want to invalidate interpretations/meaning the album may have for people” I interpret this to mean that Instead of summit being an appreciation of what once was, it’s a glimpse into their future together, but this time with what they have both learned throughout the album

This is a truly masterpiece of an album because of its accurate depiction of how we all feel throughout the lockdown. It goes through all of the different highs and lows and how we had to cope with the idea of isolation. Feeling like theres nothing left but you keep going climbing anyways, hoping the grass is greener on the other side. Great breakdown Lil Crank... The explanation of the lyrics made me feel closer to this album even further.

damn... this interpretation of the album was one of the most amazing things ive ever heard! i thoroughly enjoyed the build-up from the beginning to the end of the video and album because it honeslty made it so much more interesting to look at. although ngl, i nearly cried at the "It's All a Game" part, and i dont think ill ever be able to listen to it again without feeling way sadder 😭 but its ok, i appreciate all the effort you guys put into this analysis. great job kings! 👑❤

I'm dealing with my first break up, caused primarily by it going long distance over the summer. Everything was perfect, and then it was just gone. This is the album I've had on repeat since then, and it really has been helping me get through things. That moment at the end of Summit Part 1 where it sounds like we're going to loop back to Couloir is beautiful. Just amazing.

Thank you for making this video. I wrote an outline for something like this, but didn't have the time to write an actual draft of it. I enjoyed this a lot, and you made a lot of the same points I wrote myself. I noticed how quickly you ran through Where'd You Go. I think that's a solid sign how it should've been cut from the album. It doesn't need Where'd You Go, and it was also one of the first songs Quadeca made before he could even fully form the concept of this album to himself. I think he just felt obligated to leave it in because he did release it as a single from the new album, when I all honesty, it adds nothing to the final product. I don't like Work. But I'm glad you explained it better to me here since I don't enjoy listening to it enough to deep dive into it on my own. I don't want to downplay Quadeca's life and feelings as just a story, but it really feels like he's setting up a trilogy. FMTY is very much a sequel to Voice Memos. There also isn't a solid conclusion to the narrative here. The climax isn't that the relationship is over, the climax is Quad accepting reality and finding peace. When he returns home from the climb, there's a chance the relationship can be mended. Which is why I feel this story needs another part. One criticism I have is that Quadeca Mashups should work on his delivery. Crank was consistently good, but QM slurred words and didn't use any voice inflections at times.

I've been away so I finally got round to watching this. nobody asked and this has almost nothing to do with the video but this is my theory on the meaning on the man on my left shoulder: the man on my left shoulder is about the awareness of MPD and being bipolar. he constantly changes his mood, his word flow, the beat and his vocal delivery. at the end of the ignorant quadeca verse he backtracks what he says and almost apologizes for the way he acted. he says "I wish I had more voices in my head to counteract you , I think that's why I have to sing about you" im not sure if ben struggles with those mental disorders and thats just the way i took it. love to hear anyones opinion.

after watching this magnificent analysis, i really am more hyped than ever for the next project, you see im also working on an album about all my problems and demons which in this case i see as the voice memos stage, of course it differs but its the closest thing. Ive also always really wanted to be in a relationship and i feel like it could solve a lot of my problems and give me a reason to go on when times are getting difficult. Im also eternally scared that whatever i imagine to be the next big saviour in my life wont be enough or long lasting and this is exactly what quadeca shows about his relationship through the transition from these days to fmty. Id love to see what conclusion he comes to after having been on both sides, if any.

Wow, never even clicked that this could be taken as a breakup album. No words for just how completely beyond this video went beyond my expectations when I clicked on it. Genuinely have to relisten to the album and it was aging ever so mildly poorly for me I think this puts a lot of energy and purpose back into an album that felt kind of soulless when compared to Voice Memos. Thanks for making this lmao, this has me pumped to listen to Quad even more now.
@ChiPandaAndKeegan

I don't think this is a breakup album. There's no climatic ending about them finally splitting up like "Are We Still Friends" on Tyler The Creator's IGOR. "Summit" is a reflection on Quadeca himself. It leaves the relationship open with the possibility of being salvaged.

This is so cool! But I have to say I disagree with burning bridges being chronologically written soon after Quad goes to college, I think it begins a period of his relationship following Alone together where he ignores his relationship and focuses on his rap career, and this continues through work and then during people pleaser the relationship slowly bleeds back in

Excellent video my kings! After this video I love this album so much more. But just a little note: I think WDYG has much deeper meaning in the context of the album than just an ignorant banger where Quad releases his frustration. I think it was the point when after he accepted his flaws and bad decisions, he finally found himself and his lost motivation to achieve his goals. And after this realization, there's literally nothing and no one who can stop him. The title Where did you go? is also could be a reference to his musical persona/character believed to be lost. But it's just my perspective.
