Some of the more “soft boy” sort of very emotionally honest almost melodramatic lyrics and inflections are my favorite parts. A lot of the singing in that sorta vein almost gave me Conor Oberst vibes. It’s definitely a very subjective thing, but it does make me think of what certain people hate about the vocals on Bright Eyes songs and how those are often the parts I enjoy the most. There’s just something so captivating about vocals and lyrics so honest and self indulgent that they’re almost uncomfortable.

Favorite songs are WHAT'S IT TO HIM and TEXAS BLUE. TEXAS BLUE was for some reason the only song I really really enjoyed off first few listens, while the others grew on me. I was familiar with a lot of the material already so maybe that's part of it. Kinda felt validated by Astrid this episode I think it was a very pleasant listen overall but didn't quite hit for me, and I've been listening to Quadeca since bla bla bla. That being said, as a follow up to his last work I like how he's not trying to go super far with the conceptual line-up if it's not what he wants to release rn. IDMTHY was very critically acclaimed so it feels like you might get caught trying to recreate that. Reflects what yall were saying abt his lyrics sometimes being unabashedly honest with the listener; he simply likes his music and wants to share his joy in hearing them with other people. Also Aztro if youre reading this your live listen to SCRAPYARD's first few tracks was really neat, idk if you'll do more live listens but I enjoyed it.
