@Santhi Life Hi there!! Given a²+b²=5 this eq'n can be written as (a+b)²-2ab =5.....{1}eqn • Then given quadratic equation is x²+bx+c ... From this • Sum of roots is a+b = -b/1 and product of roots is ab=c • Substitute those value in eqn 1 we get b²-2c=5 ....{2} eqn • we can write as b²=2c+5 ... {3} • We have a³+b³ =9 .. We can write these as (a+b)(a²+b²-ab)=9 (a+b)[(a+b)²-2ab-ab)] =9. .. (a+b)(a+b)²-3ab=9 ....{4} We have sum of roots and product of roots.. We can write {4} as ... -b(b²-3c) =9 .. Then from eqn 3 we can write as -b(2c+5-3c)=9 -b(5-c)=9 write as b=9/c-5 Put in eqn 3 and solve these you get b=2 and c=-3 . .. we get b+c =-1 ..
