I wish I lived back then. So elegant and such etiquette behavior. It's truly beautiful. So much better than the club scene nowadays.

No equality, no healthcare, no antibiotics, no freedom, no voting for women and people of colour? I’d rather live now, enjoy the dresses, music and balls, and the rights and freedoms we have nowadays...

Lovely. The lady in light green looks particularly elegant and graceful. Her dress is stunning, too.

I love how I found this because I started reading again and then fell in love with books about fairies and faeiry balls where they are dancing the quadrille

Subversion of culture has been an act of war. Rulers hate us. Their plan to slowly erode away all that is good. God sent them to punish us for ignorin the Torah and the Prophets daily.

True story. When I was a very young child, no older than 6, I had a dream I was a man in another time. I came through these curtains into a dark large room decorated with long, big red curtains. I was wearing a brown suit and I sat at a round table, had a small drink. Couples were dancing slowly and the women wore dresses similar to what's shown in this video. I'm 34 and have never forgotten that dream.

I also had dreams like this as a child, I still do. We visited a stately home when I was 5, in the ballroom I said to my mum that I met him (my husband) here, that we danced. Whenever i watch something like this I feel at home and that's something I rarely feel, but always feel hearing this music, seeing the dances, the dresses, the interior design, the stories, I could spend all night every week doing this, but modern clubs I'm looking for an escape within less than a minute of being there. More often it involves me making up a reason to not go at all. Unfortunately there's nothing that does this near where I live. That's why I'm hoping to get a job where there are so I can do something I enjoy rather than be at home all night every night because I don't enjoy modern dance and socialising methods. Some people may say I'm mad, but I feel I have lived in this time (regency/victorian), it feels like I've experienced it and long to go back, it's a homesick feeling.

That's soooo nice, where do people find the costumes?
@thestressedseamstress59244 жыл бұрын
Mmm there should be some out for rental/purchase at event costuming shops, however if you prefer something more historically accurate and higher in quality, I'd recommend getting a dress commissioned at a tailor specialising in historical garments. :)
