Quadriplegic cold weather tips for staying warm

Live To Roll - As a C5 C6 Quad and being very skinny I am usually cold so I show a couple of things I use and a few tips for staying warm during the Winter.

Hey man love the videos! I am also a c5 c6 quad who lives in Northern Minnesota where it gets stupidly cold in the winter and the neck gaiter is a life saver oh and having 2 fireplaces! LOL I keep telling myself I need to move to warmer weather!

I love the cold! Has always made me feel alive! My barometer is when my ears get cold it's time to go in. Or put on a shirt with sleeves.........

good vid man, i do the layering thing too and you are right it helps, but not the neck gaiter. Thats a great idea dude, i feel dumb that i never thought of it myself.You can put it on or have someone put it on you and it stays there and you dont have to worry about it falling off and not being able to put it back on.It would help with the cold and the pain.,thx, man, fist bump

Keep the videos coming, I look forward to other quads ways of doing things...I myself wear beanies all winter and if I can't get warm I put hand warmers on my ears inside the beanie. I have a rod in my neck c5-c6 area and lay on a covered heating pad to ease the neck pain in the winter

!!! FYI everybody... The Under Armour Base Layer shirts are on sale right now on their website! You want to get the ones with the layer of fleece built into them. That's crucial to mention. I grabbed a couple of the 3.0's before Christmas for $33 apiece. That is an insane deal. You won't find a deal like that until next year. But they are still 15 and $20 off in the Outlet section! 2 and 3.0 are great! I've never tried the 4.0.

Get yourself an oil filled radiator heater. They provide nice heat and don't cost too much to run. It was 0° here last week in Washington state. I will trade you spots.

Hi I started watching your videos about a month ago and recently subscribed. My boyfriend was injured 2 days before Thanksgiving, he's actually still in the hospital but hopefully will be heading to rehab this week. Your videos have given me so much hope as to him being able to lead an independent and happy life. I have so many questions regarding time and expectations on when and what he should be able to do. Hey dude sorry it took me a while to get back to you but yeah employment can be harder to find as a quad. I will try to discuss it a little more in my next live stream if you want to but the main things I see people doing are either in the medical supply industry or work at a medical/rehab center. You can do a lot of other stuff as well you just have to get a little creative..

How do you empty your leg bag wearing pants instead of shorts?

legitsrs I have a couple different ways I try to wear pants but in general I usually don't unless it's really cold.. I have just pulled sweat pants up over my legs and shorts but not all the way over my butt. Just enough to keep my legs warm but so I can push them down to get to the leg bag.
