Great video. I'm a T6 para, and happen to have that exact car and WC. However, I've recently been having trouble getting in and out since a recent shoulder injury, and I picked up some small changes from your vid that I think will help me. However I put my wheels on the rear floorboard and chair on the back seat behind the passenger; I just flip the passenger seat forward. That way I can take a passenger (i.e., spousal unit) in the front passenger seat.

as any quad who's been one for a few years [i'm a c5-7 since '90] knows, even same level quads have very different abilities/levels of function..the guy on this clip is definitely a quad - just going by the forearm muscle atrophy..yet he has more ability than me in hand dexterity [i need both hands to open car door] and trunk balance..i can't bend down/sideways as he does to pick up wheels/chair frame without falling facefirst on pavement..good clip for those who have his level of function...

I'm considering a rigid frame for my next chair. The strength of the titanium is important. I've broken every frame on all the chairs I've owned in the past 37 years. Quickies, Everest Jennings, Invacare, etc. Sooner or later they all fail.

@The391956 A quad is a person with impairment in all four limbs and a para has only impairment in his lower limbs. The guy has limited hand and arm function, so he's a quad. A quad is a person with spinal cord damage to the C1 to C7 on the spinal column. A C1 injury has no function from the neck down and relies on a ventilator to breath whereas a C7 injury retains most of the arm function with a little movement in the hands. C5 to T1 are the nerves involved with arm function.

almost everything depends only on the skeletal structure, some quadriplegics are facilitated by this such as the back bend. All those who fail to make the transfers have a back like this guy. I could never bend forward because I'm stuck, I broke my femur just leaning a bit 'in a wheelchair ... this guy is fiortunato to be a quadriplegic luxury

Nice, I'm C6 & C7 complete Quad . interested to learn from you is the TiLite ZR comfortable enough as i used kuschal k4 and k7 now im with Italian off-car, cobra wheelchair which is not my seat height, but i can get along and not as good as my previous wheelchairs. Your wheelchair back looks nice can you tell me more about is your wheelchair comfortable with legs higher than lower back? im really searching and interested in TILite as i had one before it's discontinued, but today i hope to find the most suitable wheelchair to suit Independence. Please respond if you know any TiLite or other wheelchairs that can be helpful in my search as a Quad with all seat width, adjustable, please advice, Thank you in advance.

btw, i have a clip on my yt page which shows me getting out of my '68 cutlass when i dropped by my bud's place... i couldn't easily deal with popping wheels off my 'chair and then bringing the frame over to passenger seat thus i've always used a folding 'quickie 2' and stow it behind my car seat, in the rear...it does require a 2 door coupe and wreaks hell on the interior [tears up rear seat and front seatback, plus scratches door sills/quarters] but that's a compromise i chose to live with...

What size is that chair? And what your height?

@jorgemrjesus look closely, he activates a power seat/seat back and it looks like it has a memory setting...it slowly goes forward and up then stops...and vice-versa when he's transferring out.. the bad thing about any p/options - if your battery's weak, you might not have enough juice to start the car..or if it's dead you can't move seat anymore..i prefer old cars with no power options...i even have manual [no p/s] steering in my '36 stude and '60 fairlane kustom but it's tough when parking..

@jamiewm3 what is the difference between a paraplegic and a quadriplegic since this quadriplegic acts like a paraplegic with a manual wheelchair instead of a power wheelchair which most quadriplegics are in. that car had no handcontrols on it, maybe it was just a show to show he can make transfurs with his manual wheelchair but a quadriplegic driving without handcontrols would be hard to do for a low level quadriplegic or paraplegic without any use of the feet to control brake and gas.

it does have hand controls. you can see the bracket running under the steering column. I have the same setup. its electronic

Could you please tell me how wide is that chair? I have a 3 series and there is no way a ZR, in the width i need (18"), will fit on the passenger seat.

Mine is 18.5 inch; TiLite and fits a C250 Coupe. I am a big guy and before the MB C250 I had a Challenger which was easier and also would fit in the trunk everything when I had friends. The Benz I can only place the frame in the trunk having the wheels in the back seat. Lay down and to the back your seat, until it reaches the Max. point. You might have the steering wheel to much out of the dashboard. I had to ask the Mobility guys to adjust that otherwise the WC frame wouldn´t come through between my chest the the steering wheel. A 3 series is not the best car definitively. My C250 coupe had some room, the challenger is the best, but I bet the new Golf is a great option as well. Camaro's trunk sucks, Mustang is also small. The A5 is worth of a try so as the 4 series, but both are very expensive if new.
