Four narrow wings in a stack has less induced drag than a single wing of equal area size having fatter tip chord width. The width of the wing tip is a key factor in a wing's flying drag . 8 small wing tips causes less wingtip spill-off swirl drag than two huge wing tips. Rigging drag is a different issue, but obviously matters too as seen by airplanes evolving into monoplanes from bi or tri planes. Flying airspeed range is the key factor in rigging drag. A hangglider with four narrow wings fly very slow, and so the rigging drag is not so critical. In powered high speed flight the rigging drag would overshadow any of the advantage of wingtip layout that the low speed quadraplane enjoys over the fatter winged monoplane.

God has said in the Quran: { O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous - ( 2:21 ) [He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]. ( 2:22 ) And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. ( 2:23 ) But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.( 2:24 ) And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, "This is what we were provided with before." And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally. ( 2:25 ) Quran

***** I wonder if that would be enough power. Great idea though!
@dimitristripakis73649 жыл бұрын
Joash Church Im not an expert but I have figured out a decent combination = 10 kW motor, 0,5kWh 20C battery (good for 3 minutes full power), and 500 W PV cells (good to charge the battery in one hour). That is, charge time / powered flight time = 20. But it is plausible and not very expensive. AFAIK, there is no reasonable-cost way to make it run on the PV cells alone (I mean no need to charge).
@izzyplusplusplus10049 жыл бұрын
***** 20 minutes isn't bad. Considering you could simply put it in the sun to recharge, one could get a decent amount of takeoff and landing in one day.

It has short wings, which wud not lift the person, so, the craft compensates by having multiple wings, multiple wings is equivalent of a big wing in lift power. But that design is very bulky tho, and the maintenance must be hell.

You are Pretty stupid answer. In the video you can see a hang-glider flying at same speed as paraglider. You can not do this with modern hang-gliders. In places where you don't have big fields for landing (like Mallorca) this design is superb.
