Sadly, anytime I try to plug anything into the arboreal node no matter what the map or what I'm trying to plug in, it automatically crashes me :-(

How can i use it as distribution map to scatter assets in 3rd party softwares and what would the workflow look like?
@cowsmanaut2 жыл бұрын
The arboreal outputs a mask which you can use for colour inside of Gaea, but can use for distribution in other apps. The mask just puts white where there are trees and the rest is all black.

@@cowsmanaut i will try to just plug the mask file on houdini's scatter mask input. Hopefuly my brain is over-complicating this, after all, masks are usualy a 0,1 thing. thank you!!

Hi, what is the difference between clamp and clip?
@cowsmanaut3 ай бұрын
Clamp assigns lower min values, and higher max values while gradually compressing the whole shape within them. Clip will Also set min max values, however it removes an portion which goes outside them, effectively slicing off the top or bottom of your shape.

Can you do biome with this node? Please do a tutorial on biome. THanks.

This will allow you to decide the kinds of trees you want and where, but it's only trees and bushes. That said, you could use it to make masks for other texturing. This uses Flow and slope to calculate where trees would go and then adds a height feature to control zones. I suppose it could be used for all kinds of basic vegetation.. There is also the vegetation node which is straight forward. Plug a texture in the top (satmap output for example) and the height map in the bottom and then play with the settings. Pretty straightforward to use.
