For some reason I also find it funny when Quagmire is the most reasonable person in the room. It just goes to show that even though he's so addicted to sex and has done some pretty bad things, he seems to still have some kind of moral center and has more common sense than his friends. Like in the stewie's nightmare episode which what I like about the episode actually has a lot more to do with the a plot where Brian is trying to help Stewie get over his nightmare by entering his dream, but that part at the end when Peter and Cleveland unfortunately crap in the attic and then they all fall down onto the floor, Quagmire is the only one who actually apologizes to Lois for what they did. He even says he'll need to take a break from this friendship for several weeks😂

I think Quagmire,along with Stewie are kinda the only characters that have changed. My head canon is that he was able to get over some of his maternal trauma when his mother transitioned into a woman because now he finally had a mom who cared about him deeply just for being him. He also met one of his children and found out what it means to really love something,and then he got James which made his capacity for love grow even more.
