Thank you! Totally enjoyed your video and learned a lot. I hear their calls all the time out here in the desert, and never was quite sure which bird I was hearing. I so appreciated all your different calls! 👍

This was GREAT -- I feed wild birds, but as a city girl, had never seen a quail. Now I have THREE. I didn't know what they were till today. One was on its own today, and it made a call of two short notes that sounded SO forlorn.

This is so good! Love this video. I just heard a LOT of birds making a sound I'm trying to identify. I don't think this video helped but it was definitely worth a listen. I'm hoping by subscribing to this channel I'll learn a lot more!

LOL....great video.Recently tried quail hunting and have come up empty so far with my young lab. We both have a lot of learning to do. This video had a great amount of info in it, and enjoyed the GSP vs setter comment too. I neeed to get out of the vehicle and LISTEN more for sure. I went with a lab because I'm hoping to flush some pheasants, find some quail, retrieve some dove, and in late season hunt ducks and cranes (im in west texas and I don't think very far from your ranch location) if i'm correct. For May/Jun walks before daylight, assume snake boots/chaps are a requirement for ya?

I never get tired of seeing this video and finding parts of it that apply to my life. As a Georgia Giant BW Quail grower the WORST sound I can hear is the flight. That Flutter means I'll be walking around like a Dummy with a butterfly net trying to catch the invisible bird! Fortunately for me, mine have become more tame and really do wish to be back with their family. Just so flighty they couldn't help themselves! After they're out, it B like...WTF? How do I get back home? But, They are Georgia Giants....Game Warden said I don't have to pull a permit for them. Domesticated birds, he said. I said, Ok. :) I had to ask. If I ever get Busted for anything, it shouldn't be quail! JS! :)) My daughter can mimic a red tailed hawk well. I've seen chickens stop and drop, but it's not a good idea to do that around my dogs. They'll roll you over looking for that Damned bird! If they do, you'll have earned it for teasing the dogs! :))

My neighbor just got some Bobwhite Quail a few months ago. Every morning we wake up to the matting/territorial call. They are also great at throwing their voices; a few times I thought they got out. We took this video down by the coop and played it and it was awesome; they totally responded! I just felt bad when he did the hawk call because it really did scare the begeebies outta them. Thanks for the education!

Wow....Impressive Bird Calls! However did you learn to mock a bird (especially the Quail) so well??? How long did it take you to figure that out! That is really impressive! :)

Are these calls mainly from male quails and are the females pretty noisy? I plan to keep quails/hens, but because I live in a town, the noise is regulated. Thanks.

That's pretty good! LOL! Do they ever say "bob" and leave off the "white"? I keep hearing a bird that sounds as though it's calling just "bob"! It's really frustrating b/c I keep waiting for the "white" and it never comes! What am I hearing??? Any idea? I am in south central Mississippi...

Strange place for a quail. But yeah, good stuff.

They are small but tasty. That is one reason why there are not too many left in the wild.
