Lost all my demos, so... next best thing. This game is from some cpmduel cup final.
Testing this graphical config.
I don't have the exact configs but these should be close enough:
cfg: pastebin.com/r9... save as a .cfg file to cpma dir or baseq3 dir and load it with /exec filename
hud: pastebin.com/KX... save it to cpma/hud/liskhud.cfg my cfg will load it, or /ch_file liskhud.cfg; reloadhud
The textures are just r_picmip 10 no retexturing or anything.

That's what I've always admired about q3 CPM players... the absolute map mastery. They know every nook and cranny, spawn point and teleport in the whole damn thing. It's amazing, completely.

It was never popular to the extent of other big games like dota 2, cs, cod etc. Check out Reflex on steam. Its a standalone remake of cpm. Still in early access, but its looking good.

+ilyktosk8 You can still get in touch with duelers in #cpmduel or #cpmpickup at Quakenet. All you need is two players minimum and if you're interested in duel, 100 or 10 000 players doesn't make much difference.

yeah after like 2002 quake was pretty limited to around 3-5k players at its peaks. quake champions is actually doing really well right now by DM game standards. imo the games been doin real good after some much needed updates. and you got a good few champions with air control cpma/quakeworld movement to pick from too. coming from an oldschool quake players since quake2 trust me its shaping up to actually be pretty good.

Holy crap, this much awesomeness gave me a headache! That's one thing about Quake 3 that other games will never achieve... even years of playing every day will never get you this level of skill. You can really see the difference between robots and regular mortals here. :O

I always liked the movement in CPMA, it increases skillcap, but not the weapon switch speed which is a step down from QL. cpma style is far too lenient on poor weapon selection.

I still don't quite understand how Hal did that stairs to RA jump at 9:21. I thought significant speed had to be reached first by wallrunning, but he just jumps straight in the middle of the stairs. I assume he reached the necessary speed with the circle jump alone. Amazing :o

Wallrunning just makes it super consistent and easy for the stairs to eat your first jump, but you can totally do it with circle jumping into the stairs. You get a feel for it after a while.

I never could do this jump consistently so yesterday I started browsing the Internet, searching for some guides etc. and eventually I found information about wallrunning. It made the jump a lot easier because like you wrote - it made the stairs "eat" the first jump (without wallrunning I often gained height upon jumping, which of course made me fail the second jump). I also wanted to watch some CPM22 duels to see how hardcore CPMA players do it and I stumbled upon this video. I believe it took me 30 minutes to do the jump without wallrunning ONCE. I dread to think how much training the best CPMA players put into this game and into this jump considering they can do it all the time, from basically any angle (yesterday I saw Hal do the jump backwards - I think it may even be in this video) and with circle jumping alone. A spectacular display of skill.

"/r_picmip 10" edit: you need to "/vid_restart" afterwards for these changes to take effect.

cg_forcecolors 1 cg_forcemodel 1 cg_enemyColors 12222 cg_enemyModel keel/pm cg_deadBodyDarken 1 Open the scoreboard if the models didn't load immediately. You need to use a pm skin for the colors to work (e.g. keel/pm, tankjr/pm, etc), otherwise the commands should be self-explanatory. Check out the latest release of CPMA - it has a good default.cfg playmorepromode.com/

yes prediction is so huge in cpm but it dont have to be. it can be more about combat if we play with more open maps. ask a friend to play q3nem06

What do you mean by legal contests? If you mean lan parties I doubt he attended a single one, since nobody makes CPM tourneys at LANs nowadays But he's won a bunch of online competitions, and currently playing one.

@@den1sk0v30 Nothing special about the lightning guns colour, these are the settings that affect the LG: beam type: set cg_lightningImpact 0 set cg_altLightning 333 set cg_trueLightning 1 and textures: set r_picmip 10 set cg_nomip 494 //1023 - everything, 990 - not LG&RG For the rail colour: set color 50007 // - first and last number affect the rail colours set cg_enemyColors 12222 // same but for the enemy and these settings for the beam type: set cg_railStyle 5 //try 7 if you want the spiral around the beam set cg_railTrailTime 1250 //same as reload time :), try higher values for coolness set cg_railCoreWidth 5 set cg_railRingWidth 4 set cg_railRingStep 2

ForceTv Yeah, everything in the video is all in-game commands. Don't see what's so special about the weapon models though, it's just cg_gunoffset and lowest texture quality for the smooth look. For the enemy it's forcemodel and enemycolor commands.

The video is 30fps and it's a mvd demo which are indeed a bit choppier than normal demos. There are a few hiccups in the video but I don't remember if it's because of lag in the demo or my old pc at the time.
