Quake Champions does a pretty good job trying to balance size (hit boxes), speed/movement and abilities. But you're always going to have imbalances depending on the matchups on certain maps which creates advantages/disadvantages. I also like that by having these characters have different characteristics, it adds more life to them. In the next instalment of Quake, would you prefer the same type of game play or the traditional ways of Quake 2, Quake 3 Arena/Live?

I kinda dislike the ults but I love the different movement types. Like I personally love the just holding a and d air movement style so I mainly play characters with that though sometimes I play slide hop characters. Overall I like the champions but I dislike win buttons (it’s more complex then that but I like referring to the ults as such)

A new Quake game that continues to appeal to the niche existing fanbase will only fail. Not to say we should alienate them altogether, but if QC had shipped with a server browser, and the option for streamlined movement vs retro movement it would've had a much healthier playerbase.

Nice to hear your thoughts! Very interesting meta came out of this. I think many things in this favoured killsen heavily. Smaller hitboxes, slower meta because of how the lan setting allowed for shredding HP with good aim, and the heroes you mentioned are some of the killsens best. I'm not a dueller (I play mainly CTF), but I do like watching the pros...especially your good self ! Something I'm very curious about, especially after watching this video. Just for the sake of argument, let's say the rules of tournament play were changed...there was no "ban list", there was no rule that you couldn't reuse a champion if you'd already used it in one of your other matches in the set, there was no rule that you couldn't pick the same champion as your opponent and there were no blind picks. Basically you could play whichever champion you wanted and you selected it in full view of your opponent and could see your opponent's pick at the same time...a bit like a "street fighter" selection where you pick your champ and can lock it in or wait for the counter to run down and your opponent does the same. Having watched this video, which of the following would be true ? 1) You'd always pick Athena, no matter which map came up, no matter who your opponent was and no matter what champion they chose to play if you had the option to ? 2) You'd always pick one of your IMBA or S tier champs (Athena, Visor, Nyx or Anarki) dependent on various criteria (map, opponent, opponent choice) if you had the option to ? 3) You'd mostly pick from your IMBA/S tier champs but in certain situations you might pick from your A tier also ? 4) None of the above ;-) I completely understand that the tournament organisers want to get as many champions played and be seen to be played as possible and the current format is designed to do that with no champion being used more than once by either opponent in a series of games...but if that was not an objective, if all the pros could pick whichever champion they wanted for all of their matches...would it end up with everyone playing Athena on every map ? or would you still get several champs played...but instead of say up to 14 champs being played you might only get 5 or 6 that are generally regarded by all the pros as "the best choices" ? What do you think ?

WHAT QUAKE CHAMPS REALLY NEEDS IS DEDICATED SERVERS HALFWAY BETWEEN ALL THE NORMAL SERVERS SO INSTEAD OF HAVING A MATCH ON NA OR EU TO GIVE A PING ADVANTAGE OR DISADVANTAGE, THERE WOULD BE SERVERS TO CONNECT TO THATS HALFWAY BETWEEN BOTH, PROVIDING A CLOSER TO FAIR AND EVEN ENVIRONMENT.

Yeah, at some point it's hard to give enough stacks to counter the ability to get to pickups faster. I still think they've got it pretty close.
