QC was my first Quake and I'm sad to see Quake die in favor of repetitive and boring BRs. Beautiful game with massive skill ceiling and so much fun

I think one of the main issues with this game was that they only added like one or two abilities. That's just lame: why not add more skills/abilities instead of just one to press and maybe a passive one.

The best thing about this game is the engine. If QC could be modded I think it would have been a far more successful game. Unfortunately the business model would not work for a modded game.

The engine is the reason why it failed. It wasn’t Dooms engine. It was saber interactives engine. It was also the reason why saber was kicked off the project and the in game stutter was never fixed.

This game failed so hard. Not because it wasn’t popular.. but because the game engine was ass. Throughout the games life there was a constant stutter in the engine.. and I can say that cause I got 700 hours in it. It was made AFTER doom 2016 yet didn’t use the same engine. Wtf

The skill ceiling was too high for me i will admit. I was getting the dog shit beat out of me. And i tried to improve, but i came to the conclusion it would take far too much time. Getting ur ass beat despite you trying ur best aint fun. But i cannot think of a way to solve that issue for quake. The gameplay cannot be changed or dumbed down because its the core of what makes quake Quake. And u cant just instantly get better, it takes time. Feel bad for quake fans because they have unbelievable skill but to their detriment because no one wants to face them. I do love watching competitive Quake. I simply suk at it

I must say the first 2 minutes were painfully unimpressive, but holy shit that shot at 7:04 was CLEAN, solid trigger discipline there, even though he got away, still fun to watch. Keep fighting!
