How does one install this? I've got the DOPA file pack in my Quake folder, but now what? I hit the bat file and it just gets me vanilla quake. What should I do now? :(

I have no idea what parameters the .bat file runs, but I did it the old fashioned way. You could try that. Create a folder "dopa" in your Quake directory and extract all the files in there. Then, open up Quake, drop down the console by pressing the tilde (~) key and type the following: "game dopa" followed by "map start" (without the quotes).

I did all that. But when I type in game dopa, the game responds with it doesn't recognize the command. The Quake directory is just the folder right? Or is it a specific folder inside the general quake folder?

Unrecognised command huh? What source port are you using? "game" is a vital command for any Quake port.

I was just using steam quake. But I got it working. I named the Dopa folder Quake Dopa but renamed it dopa, and it worked....somehow.

Yeah, your folder's name must correspond the "game" command's. You could name the folder "abc123", type in "game abc123" and it would still load DOPA. Anyway, have fun.

... I have not yet been able to enjoy these new levels, it just does not work u.u that if I no longer have the original, I could only download it from the internet with the new graphics

Just get it on Steam. It is cheap.
