This is what I don't get about Cooller's playstyle. At 4:13 he leaves red up. Then goes back at 4:20, again leaves red up to get yellow armor in Rocket room. Then leaves red up again at 4:30. I get he didn't need the stack, but why leave Red Armor up and then get Yellow? Had tons of time to get red then get Mega at 4:35. He basically leaves red armor up 3 times just to let Tox get it. I get delaying a pickup to stagger major drops (RA, Mega) but he literally gives RA away when he didn't have to. EDIT: I mean he still destroyed tox so maybe he was just teasing him with a potential stack.

+AluminumHaste your right about the fact that cooller doesn't need Armour, although i think tox doesn't really need the armour either as he has over a 150 armour stack at this point and isnt likely to risk his stack and position from armour he can just pick up in shards etc and cooller knows this. he was looking to do damage from the lower ya onto the lower jump pad as he just saw tox in the upper ya room and he couldve potentially left by that route. As coollers only 1 frag up its more valuable to damage to tox also leaving it up to throws off tox's estimate to the RA time. Its likely im completely wrong but in short thats maybe why he acts as he does.

Cooller is smart enough to avoid damage, it is best to leave it up for grabs rather than take any kind of risk. With any damage cooller takes, especially against tox, the danger of a successful ambush or aggressive confrontation is likely to occur. He respects toxic enough not to take items that would probably leave you with much less than what you got. Another reason why Cooller was able to prevent toxic from really getting anything done is by moving fast and being aggressive for damage in any place imaginable. Every time cooller deals damage, it lessens the time that tox can use to strike. I think if cooller wasn't dealing damage before taking damage on these items, toxic would had immediately began fragging him. But, with the constant pressure of resetting toxic's stack, he can postpone any dangerous attacks from being possible. I had a very similar game with someone who was out damaging me, and I managed to hold him off 1-0 the whole game by perpetuating damage before taking major items. Close game, but if you watch cooller playing tox, he's very carefully taming the beast.

i guess since hes stack was high with the ya he left it also up for backup after a confrontation and besides alll the reasons already mentioned

I think it's not becasue he scared to get damage. I think he leaved red, because he knew, the opponent would be scared to take it, and will go for yellows, but yellows would be already eaten by cooller =).

I see "cooller vs tox" and all I can remember is when Cooller raged in ALL chat when toxic duped him on ZTN for 11 minutes +back and railing with 90% accuracy! :D :D :D Still gets me today! "Look on your game! LOOK! All rail! No brain! Nothing!" (c) Cooller AHAHAHAHAHAHAH

@@KARTIKEYA007 Ah I can't remember which event it was at. I think it was a C58 invitational friendly because Toxic had a very high ping, so most probably Moscow server. I have the demos. I'll try to record them and upload.

I remember it ! It was very very long ago , approximately 2003-2004 years . and i still remember that phrase from eswc 2005 I'm not in my form yet (c) cooller . gold times , i miss them ..... Carefree teenage times ....

7:30 how many missed frags like this one I've seen and just because duels in Quake Live are (in most cases) all about using the same weapon to the point even pro players seem not to remember that shotgun exists and it causes mid range more than 50% dmg easily. In this case at 7:30 cooller would have got the frag but he didn't switch to sg and that's just one of the few limitations that affects duels in Quake Live. I know many other games in which a balanced and proper use of all weapons is essential to win, otherwise you'll lose the game but again... in most cases. I'll never get people who say "Quake Live is perfect, best game ever made" that's just incorrect, it has limitations like all games. Just my humble opinion, peace :-)

Awesome stuff!! Its a bit sad tho to see and hard to believe that this game(one of the best if not the best game ever) is now kind of dead. IMO Quake Champions is less strategic and not as good as this Quake. It's encouraging to see all the pro players commiting so hard on the game, but what realy makes quake good is what newschool players don´t like, champion skills addition blures the strategic game and it makes it just less meaningfull. Great channel!!

QC is less strategic? you need to review your facts mate. Rapha calls every prior quake a 'linear' game compared to QC as the strategy levels quadruple because QC needs old school strategy + champion ability matchups. I feel it's the hardest ever quake to master in the entire franchise. The new generation QC pros like raisy, clawz, vengeur etc. would easily own in QL / Q3 / Q2 etc. but that can't happen the other way round

@@bitffald yes this! This is so wrong. Why do only great aimers like clawz, raisy and vengeur do good in QC? Cause its less about strategy and more about aim. I dont care what rapha says. He will say anything that would make more people play it since its so not popular. And cooller did good in qc cause... well cause its cooller. He will do great in any game that he will invest himself in.

Because they used a program called "Wolfcam" basically you take a Quake demo and can make it look how you want. I don't think it's possible to make it look like this in game tho
