Of course it's Fat, he always had a defensive/control-focused style in any DM FPS as far as I know. And to those of you saying he's not that good, well, of course he isn't in shape, he doesn't compete anymore and hasn't for years. Still more than good enough to avoid dying to a bunch of randoms on a public. He was never the "best" in any game he played, but still good enough to achieve the most podium positions for many different games on LAN. Probably the most all around "successful" competitive player in FPS.

I think you dont know how good he actually was across many many games...but def in my mind the best doom3 and painkiller player and arguably the best quake player ever also

@VonCurry this is a free version of quake, it was released in august last year. You just download a plugin, and you play it from your browser.

If you people don't believe this is Fatal1ty I suggest you recheck, FFA is just really underplayed by the pros but they still do it, and FFA is hard because you have to deal with multiple threats so ofcourse they're gonna die at some point as well.

During my 2-3 hours of playing with him, I asked him several times if he wanted to duel and he never responded. It's easy to say "lol whatever it was a public match, not like its 1v1!" - my guess is that's why he wont accept 1v1s, he has no excuse if he loses.

I actually play with some of these people. I would say I'm unlucky to have missed out, but I'm not really a megafan of Fatality. He's likely one of the best arena FPS players in the world (and I love arena FPS), the thing is, I'm usually attracted to such gaming personalities based on their commentary and the overall ideologies/philosophies they have to offer with this, Fatality doesn't really give much deep analysis to intrigue me, he just plays better than everyone else. While I highly appreciate the skill involved and believe it to be an amazing talent, it isn't enough to make me a "fan" of someone, as there's not too much too grasp and think about, without that level of commentary involved. There's nothing "bad" about Fatality. He does well with his focus, it's just that it isn't enough to draw me in.

KARTIKEYA007 When I say "everyone else", I'm talking about the masses. You have a few standout competitive players, sure, but I'm talking the vast majority who have played the game. I shouldn't need to specify this. I think you just take my words too literally and nitpick real pointless things.

zRexx Your point of "the masses" is true for probably 99.9 % of games, but NOT for quake. Quake is one of the rarest of the rare exceptions where the number of veterans will be larger than number of newbies. The thing is simple, not many new players stay with quake over a long period of time, they usually drop out as they simply can't handle the heat. Jump into any 1.32 or 1.16n server, the players there are mostly the ones who have been playing for 15 years. Quake has an extremely loyal competitive player base and unlike 99.9% of games, the quake veterans actually constitute the "masses" so to speak.

That's pretty standard. If you join up, be ready to play... derp. You'd leave the AFK guy alone, then have him shoot you when you turn around.

thats how ffa works, if you leave them they either wake up and shoot you in the back or someone else comes along and gets them. if they want to do something other than play they should spec out, im sure there were plenty of people trying to get in this game

difference is.. if it was about a real professional competition, fatal1ty allways showed up and beat the one who was known as the best in the paticular game. e.g. painkiller and quake4

it's ffa, you need some kind of strategy and mostly the only reliable way is some sort of camping around the most important items (yellow, red, quad), even for pro's. they can't change the game mechanics, if 3 player at once show up and aim at you, your health will drop to 0, no matter if pro or not. as i said, it's ffa. you're gonna get fragged. if it's not fatality, that dude is still skilled as fuck. but i think its him.

this isn't fatality. i know this dude, played with him. he plays only on european servers, mainly german. sounds like fatality, right? hint: the real one is from america. "If you knew anything about Quake Live, you would know that you cannot use other players names" fatality uses a different nick.

sadly that is indeed fatal1ty. you cant fake player account names in quake live. I used to look up to fat in the golden days of FPS gaming in 99-2001. 10 years later I played against him for about 2 hours long, and I ripped him to pieces. My idol image of him was shattered. He's not the same player he was.

@BEZQonUtube If you knew anything about Quake Live, you would know that you cannot use other players names. FFA is not like duel game play, your gonna get fragged no matter who you are. I Actually played some FFA with sk rapha last night and also recorded a few of the matches. I'll post a demo of the present world champ playing FFA and you will notice he misses and gets fragged alot yet still manages to pull out the win. You nubs are use to cheaters that have overrun Quake that never miss.
