Love the content man I have been having trouble hooking into some snakeheads as of lately been using hollowbody frogs just can't seem to Penatrate when setting hook any tips would b greatly appreciated

Have you bent your hooks upward or outward at all? Sometimes that’s necessary wifi new frogs. Depends on the model. Aside from that, give it 2-3 seconds then set the hook like you’re trying to send them into orbit

Yea I have bent the hooks outward and have waiting the 2-3 secs just haven't had much luck appreciate the tips tho man keep up the good work I'll keep after them tight lines brother

As the previous beneficiary of my esteemed Team Captain's tutelage (Kambo is my Captain), when you're fishing with a hollowbody frog keep your tip down. When the hit happens, let the fish make the next move. No need to set the hook right away. Use that time to (a) get the rod tip down (if it isn't already), and (b) GENTLY reel up your slack. The second you feel the weight of the fish, or see your line starting to move, touch the rod tip to the surface of the water and then YANK THAT SUCKER UP like someone dared you to rip a tooth out of a gator. Steve's tip about bending the hooks is 100% spot on. It's the first thing I check. After doing that, I've found hookset mechanics and timing are the thing to focus on. Biggest challenge is changing your reaction from an "Oh snap! SETTHEHOOKNOW!" reaction to an "Oh, I'm gonna get you... 3...2...1... BAM!" reaction.

Really NICE! I'm jealous as usual. Have you been out much in August and Sep? I've only seen 1 fry ball in the last few weeks and otherwise it has been SLOW for me even in low pressure spots that were loaded with fryballs a month ago. Any idea what the snakes are up to and if anything is working?

Can I get away with using a medium rod with extra fast action fishing for snakeheads?

In open water, yes. In heavier cover, you run a real risk of snapping it, especially on hooksets and wrestling them out of that cover.

Not trying to blow up your spot(s) but what body of water in MD are you fishing? Is that the Blackwater refuge or somewhere else? Where do you suggest a shore fishing angler go for some snakehead action?

This was an eastern shore locale in Dorchester. For shore access fishing, Blackwater area does have some good spots. The 335 bridge, all bridge crossings over the Chicamacomico and Transquaking rivers, and Key Wallace Drive are all good shore spots for snakehead. On the west side, Dundee Creek and Mariner Point offer some shore fishing as well.
