Nice tent and good trip Eric! Although I think that ventilation would be better with more / larger windows, decent pricing too!

It's surprising...these tents don't need a TON of ventilation becuase of the construction method and fabric selection. In combination with the vents that do exist, I have found these to breathe fairly well and vent about as well, if not better, than some of my other tents. It's more a matter of if you want a fly-less setup in my opinion.

Would you choose this for hiking? Looks nice but heard it’s heavy

It is definitely heavy for hiking. It makes for a very sturdy and high quality shelter. Car camping definitely, or even hiking that is not terribly far. It's not your light weight option. The smaller tent, the standard Duo is more reasonable for hiking, but still not light.

I find their prices to be quite reasonable and for the quality of the tent. They are not the lightest for sure, but they are nice quality and well built.

If I ever buy another tent 🏕, I’m buying this one. Great job on reviewing its features and options. That river looks to be stained with mine acid runoff. Looks full of iron rust. They treat that by dumping limestone in the river, at least they do in Pennsylvania. Do you have any recommendations on the best ponchos that minimize sweating?

There is some iron...not certian it's from mine acid...but rather just natural iron deposits. Most of what you were seeing is silt/organics, but further up the river I did see signs of rust/iron staining.

I think most ponchos are gonna make you sweat. But I came to greatly enjoy my 2GoSystems BOB Poncho. Multi-Purpose...and even though I would sweat, it had decent breathability. BOB is Breathable Outdoor Basics...it's good kit.

outer limitless When I looked at the rocks that were in the river, but exposed and dry, they didn’t seem stained. I’ve just never seen a river that color that wasn’t full of rust because of mine acid. You should see some of the creeks around Pennsylvania. There’s one about 30 miles from me that is real reddish brown with stained rocks because of mine acid and rust.

This is water proof to my understanding without the fly. I did get caught in a rainstorm in my smaller Duo.

Interesting question. I don't wan to give you bad info, but I would think yes, it would fit just fine. I would suggest writing to Crua...I'd expect them to answer you.

Yes...there is. Double sided, reflective and green depending on the needs or condition. reflective keeps heat in or deflects the sun...

Looks like a good tent. Too bad that we will have to buy a different tent in a different place. We made an order 10 days ago and it still not shipped. For all our questions we got only one answer: “I looked on your order and found out that we are out of stock “. And then silence. They accept orders when there’s nothing to ship. Disappointing.

BS! This thing could fit 3 kids maybe but not 3 adults! Just got mine and returning as soon as I set it up! With so many better tents offering more room, why get a tent you have to crawl on your knees and feel claustrophobic? To top it off, I am crawling on my knees, feeling claustrophobic and paid almost 400 dollars for this nonsense with the flysheet??? I could of have more joy in a S and M session for a week if I was into that sort of stuff? I should have known when you said you use to work for Crua, this was the wrong place to find an unbias review!

I never worked for Crua... not sure where you got that one... and if you didn't use the tent you didn't even experience it. And most people know a 3 person tent is only about good for 2 people. And there are no windows... we already knew that. Every tent requires crawling. So I'm not sure what your point is yet. But to each their own.

@@markybolton no worries... no bother. Again I have never worked for Crua. They don't pay me and I'm not an employee. Do I help promote... sure. But I also review. I have found manufacturing issues and functional improvements. I provide feedback... it's also filmed and demonstrated in my videos. Say what you wish...I know where I stand and I tell it exactly how it is. No sugar coating necessary. Tell all my subscribers... if you don't I will.

@@markybolton Even with some design flaws and manufacturing issues guess what...I still recommend Crua products. They work hard, communicate well, try to innovate, and take feedback from customers and reviewers and make improvements. If you actually use their products in actual situations you'll realize they make some great stuff. I have trusted their equipment and shelter systems in the remote mountains on numerous trips as well as my family and friends. There's a reason for that and why I choose to help promote their products.
