If you love thinking in an abstract manner, maintaining data, ensuring procedural requirements are assigned with current practices, customer requirements and requirements dictated by an accreditation bureau or governing authority, them quality assurance is for you. Oh yeah... You also need to have thick skin and work with extremely limited if not non-existent resources, if you are performing QA functions in North America for mid level companies. So, when problems present themselves and you have data to back up a claim that resources are unavailable to attend to this issue and you find out that upper management cannot justify additional headcount, do yourself a favor and resign in a respectful manner. It is all downhill from that point. No one cares and quality is only the responsibility of the one person QA department.
