You are such a wealth of detailed knowledge Anesu. I never buy luxury, and doubt I ever will, but I've learned so much from you about how to check for indicators of quality and durability, and what constitutes value for money relative to price and my own capacity to pay.

Thank you Sheila. I’m glad you are learning. As consumers let’s be a little more discerning and demanding.

As someone who repairs his own leather bags, I completely agree. Some brands have highly guarded edge coating formulas. Thanks for discussing this!

I absolutely love your channel, FINALLY someone who breaks down the quality of these ultra luxury handbags! One brand that's contemporary who i believe does a fabulous job is coach. Those bags last forever! I have one that's 17 years old and it still looks brand new. Curious to what you think about Bvlgari serpenti bags coating? I have one and they are hand painted, its absolutely perfect atleast on my bag, it's insane how striaght and co consistent. Those bags are very structured though. My ysl sunset bag in croc embossed leather is extremely durable but i did notice on one of the corners, its not perfectly applied. It hasn't worn but i baby my bags. Considering its hard croc embossed leather, i don't have to worry as much bc it's extremely structured.

Thank you. Coach can do no wrong in my eyes. A solid brand. I’m going to Bvlgari Serpenti soon. Saint Laurent edge coating hasn’t always worn well and can fall apart with wear and tear. If a structured bag you have you ahould be fine. Enjoy your bags in good health.

@@SoAnesu i would ABSOLUTELY LOVE if you could do a video on Bvlgari serpenti bags. I just cannot believe how they arn't more popular but at the same time I'm glad they arn't so the bags are more exclusive.

I adore your videos. Thank you for all the information especially on the quality of bags. It was so insightful. Can you please create a video on bags made with full grain leather or the best leathers that would last a lifetime. I know there might be some overlap with other videos already posted but I would love to see even more videos on this topic of quality, particularly since so many “designer” handbags have dropped in quality despite the crazy price tags.

Wooow, I learned so much in this video (as well as your others). Just went to check my Saint Laurent bags and two out of four of them have leather breaks in multiple places.😬 So does my Longchamp Madeleine. I've SEEN this before, but never knew that it is a sign of not so great quality. Thank you for these very informative videos!

Funny how LV and YSL bags have never spoken to me, with the exception of the Manhattan line (YSL). Ever checked this particular one, Anesu? I thank you so much for all of your videos. You truly produce content! Also, anxious for your opinion/knowledge on sunnies. Bless you!

you are so spot on LV vs Valextra. You probably are aware of the Recall of the LV Capucines with melting edge coating produced between 2103-2014. How embarrassing for LV.

That was a tricky time for LV but the edge coating now is considerably better and it's a solid bag.

Great video! I would like you to educate me and the rest of the audience on leathers that are processed such as Valextra millepunti or Prada saffiano. When I see in person these products I often have the feeling of "plastic effect". I do not know if it is due to my lack of understanding of the leather used, the details to look for, or if indeed they used lower quality leather. Would you be so kind to explain this? Thank you
@SoAnesu2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! That’s such a minefield. Millepunte is processed, as far as I concerned, but Valextra keep insisting it isn’t. Prada and LV processed leathers definitely feel and look like plastic, there is no way a brand would process good quality leather it doesn’t add up. I’ll do some more digging and create content once I have all the facts.

The brand that people complain the most about is actually the one that uses turned edge on all their bags and slgs.. it’s Chanel. It makes a lot of sense for Chanel since their brand dna is from a couturier, where edges of garments are finished.
@SoAnesu Жыл бұрын
I’m not too sure if Chanel’s turned edges are ever the issue i think it may be more to do with the construction. I like turned edges…
@TeeL.5 Жыл бұрын
Definitely. Turned edges take more work to make and protect the item from potentially exposed raw edges. I don’t think Chanel’s quality is as bad as people make it out to be especially when some people who say that have not used Chanel pieces for long or have not owned them before

And just like that you are going to get cancelled by Chanel loyalists for that comment!🤦🏾♀️

Dear Anesu, very useful to know, thank you! I recently came across this video on You Tube on the Sac du Jour: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opbQZIGwbdmlbs0si=zBaQpaw2SefcWqEs. I am really curious whether this quality issue (at ca. 9:40 in the video) is normal for a quality bag in daily use - or is it something that should not happen? Could this also happen with super premium bags which you mention as examples of exceptional quality, when used in this way? I would greatly appreciate to hear about your view/experience
