Today we take a look at quality management processes when using advanced warehouse in Dynamics 365. The process used with quality orders is different when using advanced warehouse so it's important to review the settings when setting up quality management with advanced warehousing.

Hi Scott, do you know how I can create work based on the "Quality order line results"? 3 are OK, 2 are not NOK - Outcome!

Hey Scott. Great video. In a typical business process, if the stock passes the quality order, is work then generated to move the passed stock into a normal bulk location? Appreciate this was just a demo but wondering what happens, doubt it would be left in a Quality location?

Using the old logic you had to do a move with the mobile device. There has been an update to quality management that if a quality order fails work is generated to move the item to a vendor return location. I have on my list to create a new video on this, but haven't done it yet.

Did anybody manage to get the split qty in Quality to actually create split work e.g. I receive an item of 10, pass 5 and reject 5. I want the passed 5 to go to bulk, and the failed 5 to go to reject. It seems a nightmare to work out, I created a quality order with a split pass / fail and it sends 100% to quarantine. Anybody help?

Hi Scott, Do you have posted any video around production order using AWMS like Picking list, Rafing and Quality order generation from Production order? Can you please help with that?

Hi, thanks for your sharing. I am wondering whether D365 can divide the work based on the quantity that will be inspected? For example, I receive 10 pcs and only 5pcs need to do the quality order and go to QMS location, then the remaining quantities will still go to bulk Location. I would like to check Is that possible?

It lets you do it, but it doesn't work very well or at least it didn't for me. There is supposed to be some new functionality coming with regards to advanced warehouse and quality orders, but I haven't seen it yet. I'm assuming Microsoft is going to address some of the issues and make it a little more tightly integrated.

Thanks for your advice. I find out the plan for Quality Management with WMS in following Link. Seems like the new feature will relate to ability of creating work for quality management. However I only see it goes for PUBLIC REVIEW, not general availability yet. Do you know where I can try the PUBLIC REVIEW to test this new feature? docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365-release-plan/2019wave2/dynamics365-supply-chain-management/quality-management-warehouse-processes

@@hoangau627 yes it is available since march 2020 and I could test it. It comes with a huge explanation in docs.microsoft. It works but we don't like the fact that when you have a rejection, based on a sample size, it only moves the sample size to a certain location. it should move the entire lot of course because the sample is representing the entire quantity I believe this is a mistake and have mentioned it on the iDEAS database. Here is the long help text : docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/inventory/quality-management-for-warehouses-processes

@@ej34b Thank you for your comment since it is very useful for us. I agree with the fact that QC quantity should represent quality of the whole lot and hope that Microsoft can release a update to represent that fact on D365 soon

Hi! Is is possible to confirm quality orders through warehousing app?
@Scott-Gaines
@Scott-Gaines 4 жыл бұрын
The warehouse app will only allow you to move inventory around. You will still need to log into D365 F&O to enter the results of the quality test and to validate the order.

@@Scott-Gaines One more thing. Is it possible to set inventury status to blocked when having a quality check? And make it available only if it passes the test. Somehow, I can not make it. For example: 1. Worker does the purchase receive. 2. Quality order is opened. Inventory status should be blocked (Meanwhile you shouldn't be able to do purchase put-away.) 3. Item passes the test and status is changed to available or vice versa. 4. Worker does the purchase put away if quality test is passed. Thank you!

It's not possible. In general when using statuses a process cannot act on inventory when it is blocked. In other words when the inventory is blocked the quality order cannot be generated, you'll get an error. What you'll find though is you leave the inventory status as available, let the quality order generate, and the system will create an inventory blocking record because it's on a quality order. The order cannot be reserved or used on another order.

@@Scott-Gaines We somehow solved this issue. Setting up default item status on blocking for item on which we're performing quality management. In test groups we enabled the Update inventory status. If item passes the test status changes to available. And it's working.
@Scott-Gaines
@Scott-Gaines 4 жыл бұрын
That’s great news maybe a fix was done in a recent release. One other thing to check is to make sure the blocking records are correct. In some scenarios we found that the inventory status as blocked created a blocking record. Then the quality order created a blocking record that didn’t release the first blocking record. In other words you had two blocking records on the same item. Then when the quality order was validated one blocking record remained and showed reserved inventory. Hopefully though this has all been fixed.
