I have the VL45 pros and love it! I have the cover as well and thought the same, it definitely does help in warmer temps. When I get to camp I just zip it all the way back, which makes it easier to open from both sides. To be honest when my kitchen drawer pulls out from the right side of my 4 RNR it’s just easier for me to open the left side of the fridge. You are going to love the fridge!

I’ve heard that it doesn’t keep constant temp unless you run it on the max setting all the time. Maybe you can let us know with long term use. Awesome set up.

How well does the cord slide with the fridge? I’m installing the vl45 and iceco slide in the back of my Tacoma. Looks like most people put the cord facing towards the cab of the truck. I’m plugging up to a blue sea panel that’s built into the bed cubby. I’m just concerned the cord will snag.

Any issues running it in high temps? I have run ARB, Indel, and Dometic with no issues. My current Truma Dual Zone fails anytime the vehicle temp is above 90ish degrees F. Easy to do on a warm day in AZ. I have had two Dometics running with no issues when the interior temps was 137! While I prefer a Dual Zone I have limited space in my 4Runner. Most models are too deep to allow the back seat to be up. Thanks

I have been running at on a few trips this summer and every time I hit up Costco. No problems at all. My truck has been in the 130’s in AZ also and it is working great. No problems holding temp.
