Two things: 1. In addition to the strain on fingers and wrists, the surface abrasiveness of the cordage matters. It can wear holes in your skin. 2. Altho kinks and twists are a pain to deal with, core strands breaking, shifting and bunching can frustrate the maker at least as much. The last project where I used cheap paracord was a hanger strap for a wind chime. It hung in a tree for 6-7 years before a storm brought down the tree this summer. No one cared that it was Walmart cord.

Inferior material + 1st world labor is just dumb. When you're paying $30-60/manhour to make the item (or expecting someone to donate hours of their time they could've sold for similar rates), you use the material that costs twice as much, feels twice as good, & lasts 5x as long literally every time. You're actually WASTING a huge amount of labor by scrimping on material in that situation. When it fails prematurely, 80% of that labor value is lost. The economic illiteracy of the avg person is frankly inexcusable at this point. We have the internet. We can watch a video handholding us through a 101 level understanding of literally any topic in about 20 minutes at 1x speed. There's no excuse to not know the basics of almost anything relevant to daily life, which economics certainly is. Cheap materials are only usable for rapid prototyping, throwaway quickies (minimal labor investment), & mass production at rock bottom labor costs. This Made in China wish/temu/aliexpress throwaway junk mentality needs to be driven out of westerners.

Like I have said, you can have it cheap or you can have it right, but you can't have it both.
