This is so much better. I remember writing a java code for excel automation and tbh it was so tough. But UiPath has everything that I require with less coding involved. Just had to be careful with the steps and viola! A brand new automation with minimal to no user intervention. Thanks for the video, it was very insightful.

Great work ma'am but I have an issue that now UI path has changed a lot and there is no such thing call excel application scope but now i guess its call excel file wherein data inputs are very different. I'm able to copy the extracted data from one excel sheet to another sheet but unable to copy it to another excel file. Great explanation though.

From the assign Activity, assign the expression Directory.GetFiles("folderpath") to the variable -> Files Then, you can add the For each activity to loop through the files stating ForEach File in Files. Any suggestions on how to change values of cells on grids in Windows Forms? I don't see anything online. Everything is about Excel. If i have a two columns, how do i copy one value from one cell column to the adjacent column next to it? The rows will vary. Some will have 1 row other 20+. I had hoped i could use arrow keys but it said there was a scope issue. Thanks

good afternoon, and you can check when i use the append range, the data is recorded, however if i open the file and make some changes and save the file and the robot will extract the data again for this file, it gives error !! ! .Or the excel files cannot be manipulated manually which gives the error? error that is giving is this "Append Range: Sequence contains no matching element"

Hi, use Append Range Activity to append data. The data will be appended after the already existing data in the excel.

In read cell you store the value of cell B2 into a string variable. But if we try to store the value of cell A2 it gives the error “StringConverter can not convert from System.Double”. This is might be because the ID value in excel sheet is double data type. So, can you plz help with the steps, how to handle these kind of error or say different data type other than String, when we are reading data from an excel.?

Hi, in such cases you can take the variable type as UiPath.core.GenericValue. The GenericValue variable is a type of variable that can store any kind of data, including text, numbers, dates, and arrays, and is particular to UiPath Studio. Second option with you is to change the data type in excel itself. In excel Sheet, select column the required column and format as Text type (Right Click > Format > Text)

Hello Kiran, Please follow below steps In such scenario: Read only two new rows from excel 1 by providing Cell range( For Example A7:H8) in Read Range Activity. For Excel 2, in Write Range Activity , provide the starting Cell value. For example, if six rows are already filled, provide Starting Cell Value as A7

I'm Using Excel 2007 Version. When i tried to read file i got Message as "Uipath Robot Executor has stopped working". Job Stopped with an unexpected Exit Code. I updated the excel version in the dependencies and set Runtime rule as Lowest application version. Still the error persists. Whats the solution for this?

Such error occurs when the file(Excel) is corrupted. Copy the excel content in another excel and run the project again. Hope this helps, let me know for any further query.

Did you convert Data Table from Read Range into String using Output Data Table and used the String result of Output Data Table in the message box?

Over simplified. Read an excel sheet and write all the data to another excel sheet, without any manipulation whatsoever. There is no real world practical application for this. A better example would be to merge two incomplete files. Select a key from one sheet then lookup that value in another and update the first sheet with information extracted using the lookup.
