Dear Rao, Punch points are those which will identified and categorized during different stages of the project. Some punches are recorded before hydrotest, some before final Dossier preparation or we can say before handover to commissioning phase and last but not the least during pregnancy commissioning and commissioning time. All punches have their own category and have identified when it need to be closed. It's quite a long discussion and I put the summary only. Hope it helps you.

I can't compare both in regards to easyness, I suggest you compare your work with the certification you need for further growth in your life. After you choose it correctly crack the exam don't see which is easy or difficult

What is lay up

Lay up is similar to Preservation after hydro-test, it can be dry or wet Lay up depends upon the requirements. Might be you heard about high chromium material ( stainless steel- Duplex and super duplex) are preserved with dry air or Nitrogen to protect the internal after Hydro-test. After Hydro a air flushing is usually carried out to ensure all the moisture removed from internal but still to give the internal protected a low dew point usually -5 degree dry air or nitrogen is used. Thanks.
