Good job. Is this a V2.0 mod board? Sometimes the single antenna mod is preferred as it can be more flexible than swapping from one connector to the other, you may lose a bit of sensitivity from having the VHF chip in the path, and also FM reception may be impacted. This may be alleviated by changing the choke that resides behind the screen with a 470μH inductor (NLV32T-471J-EF) . Oh and I also have an IC-705, it's the best radio I own!

if i remember right you not to remove it depending on which pcb you bought as it sets up for the 2 antennas to run on top of the radio not sure which one you took off but i know that one youtuber who was also showing you how to put one in not to take it off and said the actual component , you know him as omeot something like that call sign he uses.
