De passage à Paris avant de démarrer sa tournée européenne, Will "Quantic" Holland nous a fait l'immense plaisir de nous rendre visite sur le bateau. Un moment très spécial qui restera gravé dans nos mémoires.
Comme à son habitude, le cumbiero d'Ondatropica nous a offert une sélection sans détours de pépites glanées lors de ses voyages au long cours : reggae, cumbia, soul...
Quantic nous en dit également un peu plus sur son nouvel album solo, Magnetica, sorti le 5 mai 2014 sur Tru Thoughts et sur sa tournée.

Also at 15:10 - Iara Rennó (Brazil) in a song from Ana Tijoux (Chile) produced by Quantic : Doo Wop (That Thing) Then 21:24 - Caju e Castanha (The kings of the Embolada, this music genre)

Sólo por aclarar, las únicas cumbias que tocaron aquí fueron Santa Lucia de Andrés Landero (12:28 - 15:06), La fiesta del pescador de Las Campesinas de Barú (29:17), y Sobre las Olas de José Jiménez y su Conjunto (61:08). La Candelilla (31:53 - 34:49) no es cumbia, es una gaita (la cual también es un instrumento colombiano de la costa). Difícil decir si La dansa de la tanga, de Piano Negro (también conocido como Fruko y sus Tesos pues es el mismo Julio Ernesto Estrada) es una cumbia, pues tiene algo del ritmo pero a la vez fue algo muy experimental. No dudo que se escuchen mucho en la selva peruana, pero solo por aclarar, la conexión entre todas las mencionadas aquí, es que son cumbias colombianas de conjuntos colombianos.
