Magnetic field violates time-reversal symmetry because it creates the energy differencee for a spin for all momentum. Is this for external field? I mean, time reversal preservence for SOI is because that at k=0, the bands are degenerate?I am confused

Yess...Generally, It is assumed to be so. It is also possible in case of Internal magnetic field in case of FM mats: see following such as those arising from magnetic ordering within a material (e.g., ferromagnetism), can also break time-reversal symmetry. In such cases, the internal magnetic moments create an effective magnetic field that interacts with the spins in a similar manner, leading to energy differences and time-reversal symmetry violation.

at 5:39 you say that the y value of the crossing point between the two parabolas represents the spin-orbit energy. But shouldn't that point always be at the origin? if k=0 then there's no spin-orbit coupling, and of course there's no kinetic component, how can the parabolas get up there?

Spin-orbit energy will be the energy difference between the crossing point at k=0 and the bottom of the parabolas

But how at k=0 the value of energy is non-zero?(as asked above both kinetic component and spin-orbit part goes to zero at k=0.)

@@blessonsamvarghese4525 The energy is zero at that point. The parabolas shift both vertically and hortizontally.

at 7:50 you talk about rotations. A spin after rotating by 2 pi is flipped and 4 pi, it comes back to its original orientation

+Jonathan Furtado that's right, I don't understand what kind of rotation he's talking about, since the electron is described by a spinor field...still I don't have a good idea about the spin relaxation length or time.

Englisch Could helium zeppelins be a solution for transports into orbit? With that, modules for a shipyard for the construction of transport ships or other things could be transported without causing major environmental damage. The parts could be carried up as prefabricated components with helium-filled zeppelins or balloons. In addition, remotely controlling components to bring them to the moon to set up a station there, or even build a value. Sounds good! And it could be cheaper if we put the Challengers into orbit with balloons. From there it can be ignited with less fuel consumption. Well just an idea. Ça m'a l'air bien!
