Short on time? Top 3 Deal-breakers 1. Bad motion 0:53 slowed down to .25 playback 2. Overpriced for diminishing returns on picture quality. 3. You can find an equivalent experience for way less.

Hi there. Thank you for your great videos, i watched many of your videos on the A95L. Great analysis, well done. But i still bought the A95L 77inch very recently. I took some time to compare some TVs, LG G3, S95C (which i initially wanted), S90C and others. I can verify that the motion problem does exist on some scenes in some movies/shows. But overall the problem is only visible (according to my tests and using the actual TV) in less then 1% of all the material i used. I tested Pacific Rim and cannot reproduce your results after playing with the settings. The effect is stronger with movies like Avatar - Way of the Water (something like that). But for more then 99% of all content the problem is not really relevant which i think comes down to the way our perception works. In fast moving scenes our eyes do not recognize the little details. But that might just be me. It works for me and it works well. I am very happy with the TV, it ist amazing. The upscaling of SDR Content is the best in my opinion, the Presentation of Sports (Display cooling for very light scenes) is amazing, Colors,.... I have scene many other comparisons and the A95L wins by far (overall) in Sports and Gaming, clarity and colors. All together the TV IS overpriced, yes. But not too much. I do think some premium is due to some other characteristics. Up till now i only had Samsung TVs and i had so many problems i do not want Samsung again. All Samsung TVs have some bugs which influence the behaviour with other devices, such as random sound loss on the Ambeo Soundbar or picture drop or errors on input switching (CEC errors i think, which never got fixed). The A95L is working flawlessly up till now. One important part of my decision also was the Android System. It is way bigger then the others like WebOS/Tizen and i hope the TV will get updates and error corrections for longer then Samsung ever did on their products. Another important reason is Samsungs decision to cripple the One Connect Box by reducting 48gbit/s to 40gbit/s on all inputs. That was the deal breaker. The A95L only has two HDMI2.1 inputs, for the price it is lame, but for my setup no problem. There are HDMI 48gbit switches which i could use. In conclusion i think you are reporting existing flaws, but you are exagurating on some minor flaws. All in all the sony motion IS NOT sh*t. I am no expert but i think it comes down to compression of input signals. I would watch like you to make a video about perfecting the settings on the A95L and objectively show what this TV can do. Thank you I have to add that money is not the biggest concern for me. If it was i would have bought S90C or C3 or something comparable.

It's crazy that motion is one of the most important parts of a TVs image yet everyone else on KZbin seems to gloss over it as if it doesn't even matter. So thank you for covering it. For me, that's the only deal breaker I need when it comes to a TV that's so expensive.

Quantum TV, I realize the Professional and Cinema modes would be less saturated. Did you try the Standard and Vivid modes? Also, concerning/regarding details in bright scenes being washed out, did you try different HDR tone mapping modes, such as Off, Brightness Preferred, Gradation Preferred, etc.? I'm not arguing with you. I'm just giving you suggestions which might help you achieve the results you're after. Do your feelings about reference accuracy also apply to headphones and speakers? I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 560S headphones which Rtings claims has neutral levels in the low-mid, mid-mid, and high-mid registers, but for the longest time, I thought mids sounded overemphasized. Do reference measurements hurt audio the same way reference standards undersaturate colors in video?

Great video, thanks for being real. I do feel there is a band of influencers who repeat the same narrative. I'm in the market for a new TV. Going into a bright room and watching sports and streaming TV shows and movies. No gaming. I love OLED but open to advice. LG C3 or G3 or Samsung S90c or go with a mini LED? If the latter, what 1 or 2 do you recommend?

Would the proposition be different if the pricing for the A95L is similar to the S95C? Right now, the S95C (77") is around $3.3k. If the A95L (77") was sold at $3.5k or $3.6k, would that make a significant difference in how you look at the Sony? Or still not really?

Keep doing your thing. Like you said, if you are good at something and can back it up...do you. On that note, I'm still not sure why everyone likes to say film maker mode is what the movie producers want their picture to look like. I hate it. To each their own...

Digital Trends just did a comparison video of the S95C, A95L and G3 side by side. The A95L is in the centre and displays how bad the motion is on Sony. If you pause the video at the 15:45 mark which shows footage from the movie 1917 you can see how bad the motion artifacts are where they are non existent on the Samsung on the left and G3 on the right. Look at the helmets on the soldiers as an example as they are walking through the trench.

When folks accuse you of Sony animosity, fire back with the gospel of the Sony X900E - a TV so etched in your favorites, you've dissected it more times than anything else in your review repertoire. Post-2017/18, Sony took a nosedive, so It's not Sony you resent, but the fading echoes of its once-glorious era. I still think you need to pick up another one second hand and do some comparisons against these contemporary models. That would be interesting content!

Fam let these clowns talk. You’ve proven your point by showing comparative evidence. The reference point is for a the purists. Above standard is for people who want more than a dull picture. Half if not most of them don’t even own the Tele. Continue to TTS and showing emotion only proves how passionate you are about your work. Stay up and stay strong my G.

Hey Quantum. When you get frustrated by the shills and grifters, remember that you are doing this not for them but for us. We all have beautiful pictures on great TV's because of you. So, if the grifters and the shills and bought influencers get offended at the truth, then you know you are over the target and that is when you are doing your base the biggest service. So just letting you know, we got your back and see through the game the others are playing because you pulled the curtain back and exposed them. And that motion is indeed a deal breaker. I am shocked at how bad that was.
