About fur babies and the weather. I live in Charleston SC. Two days before Hurricane Hugo made landfall 20 miles from my home in 1989, my cat parked himself by the sliding glass door and would not budge, gazing out across the marsh towards the river. He stayed there for 24 hours, until we left to evacuate one day before the hurricane hit.

I made this for an appetizer for dinner tonight and it was so good oh my goodness. We love tomatoes in this house! Even my 5 yr old son enjoyed this! I'm thinking of doing it with eggplant!!!

I have always made cheese toast with broiled fresh tomato’s. I toast my favorite bread then put a couple slices of your favorite cheese and sliced tomatoes. Put your open face sandwich under a broiler and watch real close until it is brown and bubbly. Salt and pepper the sandwich a so yummy

I love rainy days, one of the best times to be in the kitchen! I think yours is beautiful! I'm making chicken and dumplings today, AND smother fried cabbage with sausage and tasso, and cornbread and sweet tea, my daughter in law just had my new grandson, and she requested it.... lol❤love you Paula!

I've always been intimidated by Puff Pastry. I guess I'm afraid I won't be quick enough with it and it won't be like it's supposed to be. I don't know why I've always felt that way. I love it so much!! These look so delicious! About the cheese...yes, when a recipe calls for a half cup I'm like....bless your heart! There's no such thing as a little bit of cheese! :D I was raising my kids in the 80's. When they'd get scared of thunder I'd tell them the angels were break-dancing.

Once again you have created another yummy dish! I am going to be making this too...yesterday “Paula Deen” was at our house making chicken and dumplings! They were delicious! My son came in and told me I should write down your recipes and I told him I had them saved...that wasn’t good enough! He still wanted me to write them down(he loved the dumplings)...then I told him I was trying to buy all your cookbooks and that all the recipes were in it...that put his mind and tummy at ease! This is my kind of cooking.....I will make this when I get some puff pastry......my tomatoes here sure don't look like your Romas' do....are these some that you grew in your garden ? The store ones here are never like that....and now fresh tomatoes are gone and now its back to hot house yucky ones, and Romas's are the only ones I buy in the winter.... we've had some great Amish tomatoes this summer tho.... and I have made the Amish Tomato Pie and we loved it.....was so delicious.....I need to look at my recipe again.....thanks for the reminder Paula & these tomato tarts.....I think we all will enjoy them..... I have made the tomato pie so many times after watching that video! It is delicious!!! When I don’t have a pie crust, I just throw it in a casserole dish with crumbled ritz crackers on top. So good!!

Mrs. Paula, these look amazing! I'm from Eastern NC and tomato recipes are my favorite! It is one of my most favorite summer foods to have in my kitchen. I was thinking at about the time you were adding the Parmesan cheese, if these would cook similarly in a muffin pan... to help keep the cheese from falling off? I have that happen to me all the time but It may not work as well in muffin pans because the air flow around them is restricted. I might just have to try it to see. Either way, I'll eat it because it's tomato. HAHA! Thank you so much! I'm so glad to see you on KZbin! :)

A tip for everyone out there, you can you the cheese that goes on top in a high powered blender or food processor so that it’s like powdered cheese So you can use a spoon to put the cheese and it’s less mess on the tray

One of my favorite things used to be going into the pub and asking for a big whole tomato, a large hamburger patty cooked well, a good sharp steak knife and maybe some fries. I would slice that large tomato into as thin slices as I could and then I would be a happy camper just a-munchin’ away with my hamburger meat, my fries and my wonderful 🍅 .✨🤗✨ Happy happy Michel.😁

I am surprised my parents never made these being from the south (S.C and Ga). They had a vegetable garden too with tomatoes. I loved getting a fresh tomato washing it and making a tomato sandwich. I will have to make these since I do like tomatoes.

My mother used to make puff pastry during Yuletide and make homemade cream puffs. To this date she is the only person I know who can do her own puff pastry. My grandson is a baker and he is learning but he says it ain’t easy.
