Hey Anders ,the reason our trowel is the shape it is and the reason why we lay our morter out first, is because ,we learn to cut and roll our morter to achieve a perfeckt bed to minimise access morter on the Back of the brick and in the cavity.

Hey Robert 😊 yeah but I just think that the mortar get drys when you reach the end, or you put something in mortar to keep it smoth. I would to try english bricklaying. Thanks a lot for explanation.😊

In UK doing that with the corner is called "toothing it up" however most building inspectors do not allow, as they say it causes a weak vertical joint.
@danishbriclayer-andersgamings2 жыл бұрын
Hey 😀 thanks for telling me, toothing up, very Nice. Ohh i see, i understand that. We Are allow herefter in denmark. True you have to compremise and make sure you filled up properly. Its important. Thanks mymann 😉

@@danishbriclayer-andersgamings yeah no problem, I think thats one of the issues, people do not fill up the joints properly then over time it cracks.

@@lessismore83009 you can tooth into newish builds but anything older than 50 years we furfix as it allows for movement. Movement will take place because the brickwork will usually be sitting on two different footings (new and existing) and existing usually isn't built to today's regulations.
@avemariaonelectricguitar2 жыл бұрын
Is very similar to how we bricklaying in Holland. But we don't make a tooth around the corner but against the profile. Also we use another trowel which is round in the front. We probably find that easier to scoop from the drum we also use.
